So, the mystery is solved. I'm not sure how, but everyone who patiently gave me the address to J.K.Rowling's new official site (and then sat there with me, puzzled and perplexed over my frustrating descriptions of a website that bore no resemblance to the one they were looking at) is now at least somewhat vindicated.
I have seen it. Yes, it exists, and yes, it does seem to be valid. It's the most obnoxiously visual site I've ever visited, but I also find it rather amusing and pretty, so I'll forgive it. And yes, Fey, the coffee cup really *does* have a moon in the bottom of it - I get it now!
The reason for all my trouble? The website is at www.jkrowling.ORG, not www.jkrowling.com. There is even a note on the actual webpage commenting that jkrowling.com contains nothing but a boring list of publishers. Indeed it does - I stared at that boring list for hours trying to figure out how everyone else was finding such interesting things from it.
My responses to the information therein:
1) Someone pointed out the Ginevra is the Italian form of Guinevere. This makes me happy, as it further confirms that theory about the Weasley men that had been going around. Sort of. Plus, I like the name Guinevere - so I'm happy.
2) Voldie Voldie Voldie Voldie Voldie Voldie Voldie Voldie Voldie. It is certainly not the fault of the fandom that Lord Voldemort is a cumbersome name, and, anyway, it's amusing to refer to him by such a cute little nickname when, in fact, he's scary as all hell. Or at least some versions of him are.
3) Who was it who came up with the idea that Lily Potter had been a Death Eater, anyway? And that Neville is the son of Peter Pettigrew?? That's just disturbing, and totally nonsensical. I'm very pleased that she denied them.
Anyway - I am content.
