sunday morning update

Went to a wedding last night, out in Enumclaw (rural town an hour or so south of here). It was nice, talked to a lot of people I haven't seen in a while, ate a lot of food, drank sangria and beer from my first keg. There was karaoke, but I couldn't find a song I was comfortable with enough to not chicken out, and far too much country music for my taste, but whatever. I found it creepy to watch ten (or so) year-old girls singing Christina Aquilera and Britney Spears songs - artists who prey on little girls with sex messages really kind of piss me off. And of course there was a lovely game of 'pass the baby' throughout the evening, which was quite entertaining as the baby in question was VERY well-behaved and cute.

Work tomorrow... not hugely thrilled, but hey. Hopefully if I make puppy eyes at my bosses often enough they'll find me a few more hours per day and I won't feel quite so stupid coming in to campus every day.

Must remember to call my dad; I emailed him the other day and he hasn't answered. And camping is not-this-week but next week (*squee*)... I guess I should probably consider packing, soon, shouldn't I?

Loathe karaoke, never any good songs. I like watching other people getting drunk and singing horribly (::giggles over one such incident involving one of her friend's older, Percy-like brother getting sloshed and singing a Metallica song::)...

There was some okay stuff, I just am not very comfortable singing alone anymore. My range also provides problems, since I'm a low soprano/alto and there's not a lot of female singers who don't go too high for me.

I want to go to karaoke with you all - it's doing it alone in a room full of LOADS of other people that I'm not so keen on. ;) Besides, I know that Terra and I sing in the same key and I can match her voice very easily, so I'm much more comfortable with that idea.

Plus, you guys already know I'm a freak. XD
