two days in....
Sep. 30th, 2004 08:30 pmThings I love:
Talking with new people about the SCA.
Talking with old friends about just about anything.
My new honors seminar professor, and the layout of that class.
Having people I already know and like in said class with me.
My direct boss. For saying that everyone here is here because he wants them here, that everyone is important, that our office is a clan, and that he fights for all of us if we need it. And with this guy, these are not just throwaway comments. I'm so massively honoured to work with this guy.
Professor Stan Chernicoff of the Geology department. I did A/V stuff for two or three of this man's classes the year before last. I then saw him once last year. Today, I went upstairs to talk to him about something... and he not only remembered that I'd operated for him in the past, but remembered my name. This is one seriously fabulous professor.
Crabapple trees.
Bitching with my coworkers about the presidential debates.
Other liberal democrats, for their reaction to the debates.
ETA: And I just found a passage, while reading the Westminster Confession of Faith for my colonial American lit. class, which, with literal interpretation of the words of the text, I could use to argue that all pre-Christian religions are effectively accepted as granting potential salvation. This pleases me immensely, for no really useful reason.
Things that, at this moment, I hate:
Bush. Especially his tendency to repeat the same damned phrases over and over.
The fact that I still think Bush has a fair chance of winning.
