And so, in reverse-chronological order (because that's the way I found them on my LJ), here are

At three in the morning, the door to the little one-room flat creaked open, a bar of light illuminating the room and its single occupant for a moment before a second figure entered and shut the door quietly behind him, not turning on any lights.
In the mind of a werewolf, scent came above all.
Severus Snape had never been a cheerful man.
“Come on—you know he’ll agree to it if you bet him that it won’t work!"
