I'll be getting home a little bit late tonight - I'm only just now done with work.
The universe is conspiring to make me more and more tempted to hate little Christian groups. I want to be friendly toward all religion. It's the worshippers that make it so fecking difficult.

Date: 2004-10-23 08:45 pm (UTC)OK, that's not my quote, but I had to add it. I got it from Ami-chan, who got it from Suzu. [/DISCLAIMER]
I know plenty of Christians. One or two of them are even reasonable. I try not to be critical of religion, because I know that there are religious groups that do good things. And many people find peace through religion, and maybe someday I'll be one of them, you never know. But I can't say that I am now.
XD Must quote Catcher in the Rye, because I'm a dork like that:
"I said I'd enjoyed talking to them [two Catholic nuns] a lot, too. I meant it, too. I'd have enjoyed it even more, though, I think, if I hadn't been sort of afraid, the whole time I was talking to them, that they'd all of a sudden try to find out if I was a Catholic. Catholics are always trying to find out if you're a Catholic." blah blah blah, Holden talking about a Catholic boy he knew at school, blah blah blah "The thing was, you could tell by the way he asked me that he was trying to find out if I was a Catholic. He really was. Not that he was prejudiced or anything, but he just wanted to know. He was enjoying the conversation ... and all, but you could tell he would've enjoyed it more if I was a Cathloic and all."
^__________^ I think I need to reread that book...
There was a high-school religious studies teacher I knew, once, who said that you shouldn't be biased against a religion because of a few points you don't agree with. And that's all well and good, but ... I don't know. I suppose I can't help but be a bit bitter towards Christianity, what with being a lesbian and all. Also, extremists of any religion are a danger to themselves and others along with a disgrace to their religion.
Which reminds me, this might make you at least giggle and feel a bit better. It's about Baptists causing tornados, really quite silly. Don't remember if I've showed you before ...
Now, if yu don't mind me asking, what happened?

Date: 2004-10-24 07:53 pm (UTC)It wasn't anything too serious, it was just a campus Christian group who have one of the rooms that it's my job to close at night reserved... they swear they've got it til 11:30, but my schedule says til 10:30, which is the time when I usually am allowed to go home. I didn't mind so much when I figured they'd just add five minutes or so to my work-night, but when they didn't finish til 10:45... and then the room was packed... and there were lit candles all over the place... and they had music equipment everywhere... and too many people down in the front for me to do my job.... I started getting just a teeeeensy bit bitter. ;)
