it's been a long week

I will officially be getting a new professor for my English seminar - Professor Allen is on medical leave for the rest of the quarter. This worries me, first off because she's a nice lady and I hope she gets better, but also because this is a very specific and kind of odd class, and I'm more than a bit worried about whether the new prof will be properly suited to the class, and how many changes they'll make to the requirements and class arrangement.

Also, house stuff got a little complicated yesterday. We're still hoping... we'll see what happens. *Crosses fingers* And then, of course, I start panicking about the money. It'll be okay, though - it's pretty much the same as where I'm at, I'm just psychotically paranoid about money. ;)

Writing.... well, I've got the last 'chapter' of that fic I've been working on partially written, but the characters are fighting me a bit. Who knew it would be so difficult to make adult!Sev and Remus actually be sane and admit their mistakes enough to make up? Also, I have 3 days before November and NaNoWriMo... and I want to do it, but I don't think I'll have time to really accomplish much. I'm gonna try though. Really I am. I just don't know with what.

Games are going well. Classes... are okay. I have a cell phone, which will make me feel better traipsing around between the new house (*hope*) and classes/work/etc. And the Blood Moon last night was amazing - I'm so happy we had good weather to see it. Kari, Fey and I ran into Kendra (can't remember her SCA name at the moment, although that's where I originally know her from...) and walked out to a good viewing spot on campus to watch it for a while. Oh, and I'm very much looking forward to Halloween - my costume is all set, and I've been practicing drawing scars with three tones of eyeliner. I think I'll make a decent young!Remus, hopefully.

Annoying girl in my Linguistics class seems determined to get me sick - she sits next to me in section each week and coughs and coughs and coughs, then turns and asks me questions. *Grrr*

Ooooooh. Sounds like a good halloween costume. And I hear you on the money!paranoia. I don't know how some people can be so unworried, sometimes- like, my brother usually has less that $5, and I swear he really doesn't care.

Ack! Yeah, I know - and around here there are all these college students throwing money away on such insane stuff, it just makes my brain hurt. It's not bad enough for them, apparently, to be paying for college, rent, food, and all that, but they have to add tanning and concerts and tons of other wacko stuff I can't think of right now.

I'm really hoping the costume will come out looking right - it was kind of hard to come up with things that would identify me as young Remus, rather than just some guy with a blond pony-tail, a sweater-vest, and scars. ;)

Gah, don't I know it. One of my roommates used to do exactly that- concerts, tanning salons, buying DVDs and a new computer . . . and then complaining that she was broke and could we spot her for the one dinner we went out to because it was someone's birthday. *headdesks*

Not a school-age!young Remus then? That would be tough, although a lot of the fun with costumes is when your friends are interested enough in the same things that they can guess from relatively few clues.

Exactly!

School-age, yes, since that's pretty much the only age of guy I can pull off, realistically. ;) But not in uniform, since that'd be too tricky. Two of my friends are going as Severus and Sirius, though, so we at least get to be a matching set. And I think I'm going to beg to borrow the Gryffindor house scarf I knitted one of my friends, too, so that'll help.

Okay... the Futhark is driving me crazy. As near as I can tell it reads KATA or CATA... is that right, or did we learn different systems?

*giggles* Kata, although for details on it, you'd have to ask the person who made me the icon. She thinks it suits me as a nickname, apparently.

And whee for matching, though. Even in terms of friendships and such, that particular trio are fascinating.

Thought so! *g* You'll have to forgive me, I loooove the Norse runes. Hadn't thought of making an icon with them, but you can bet I'm thinking of it now....

Yeah, it worked out really well. Canon-wise, Sirius, Remus, and James would have made more sense, but none of us really suits James. Severus was just a natural choice for the friend who's doing it. And it means I get to try painting a Dark Mark on her arm!
