a very long weekend
Nov. 21st, 2004 07:22 pmIt's been a long weekend.
Friday was packing and moving, dinner with
zinjadu's dad and my mom, and then I stayed my first night in the new house. It was cold and a fair bit darker than I'm used to in the basement - my windows face the back yard, so no lights really come in except under my door if the basement light is on. And kitty (whose name is now Theoden, because he is kingly and handsome and wise-looking and has the same colour of hair as Bernard Hill) is a snuggle-bunny at night - he curled right next to me with his head on my shoulder and purred til he fell asleep. So much love for that cat. ♥
Saturday was grocery shopping (sooooooo many thanks to
zinjadu's dad, again, who not only tolerated Kari and I wandering around figuring out what we wanted, but even seemed to genuinely enjoy the whole process), more moving of stuff, visiting with my dad and stepmom, and then wonderful spaghetti dinner made by Kari's dad, followed by unpacking. And so very many thanks to
narsilion, who has been shuttling us all over the place while we try to get things settled and moved in. Thank you!!!
Today, still more moving of stuff (the last bit!) and then loads of unpacking, including getting my computer set up. Still no internet (I'm at the office, right now), but things are starting to look a lot more organized. And there's another bit of news that I'll let
theladyfeylene announce, since it's her thing. But yay!
Getting to work was pretty easy, and I'm going to be looking into the Night Ride shuttles run by the university to see if they go to our house. We think they do, but since I've never used them before, I'm not really sure. We should be getting internet worked out in the first few days of this week, and then everything will be back to normal.
As it is, though, I'd better get moving - I used my new thumb-drive (I think that's what it's called...) to bring my paper to work with me, so I'd better actually work on getting something done with that. Since, you know, it's due at 9:30 tomorrow and stuff. Yay.

Date: 2004-11-22 11:42 am (UTC)Consider the message passed - I told her last night that you're back around LJ, and there was much excitement. She's hopefully picking up a router today, and if our modem doesn't arrive today we're going to throw a big tantrum at our provider. XD
long weekend
Date: 2004-11-21 09:53 pm (UTC)Love ya!

Love you, too!
