I made it to class today, despite the new buses and everything, and didn't even forget anything hugely important! Well... okay, I forgot my notebook, but I just took notes on other sheets for the day.

Theoden woke me up at 6am talking to another cat who was sitting just outside my basement window - we think she must be a neighbour's cat, 'cause she's got tags but she keeps hanging around the house. If we see her today, we're gonna check the tags to make sure the previous occupant didn't abandon her. I really hope she's a neighbour's - we can't take another cat, and I'd feel guilty and sad if she'd been left behind. But if she shows up at the basement window again tomorrow morning, I'm closing the blinds and hoping Theoden forgets about her.

It was really nice having breakfast in the kitchen this morning. I'm going today to sign out of my apartment and return my keys, then come home and continue unpacking and working on reading and stuff. The usual. Hopefully we'll have a router and modem today... if not, we get to throw a fit at Qwest.

There's smut over at Lupin-Snape and I can't read it because I'm in the lab. This makes me exceedingly sad. As does the fact that I forgot to make a sandwich this morning because the cat was making things difficult. Silly Theoden.

*Laughs* Yes, my cat is named Theoden. Thus proving that I am a helpless Lord of the Rings nerd. His coloring just screamed "Rohirrim" to me.

So. Sean and I were talking about Thanksgiving as we walked back to Hansee tonight, and our conversation went something like this:

Me: yeah, I would have taken one of the people on their kind offers, except I'm having Thanksgiving with the...with the...
Sean: the house people?
Me: yeah, the house people. man, we need to come up with a better name than that...you know, like it used to be the hobbits on north campus....wait...Wait! Their cat is Theoden. We can call them 'the Rohirrim'! and they live...in the House of Rohan.

So, Sean and I have officially dubbed your your new home, "The House of Rohan"

I don't mind a bit! Technically, we've dubbed the house Grimmauld Place, but it can have as many names as people want to attach to it. Besides, I like "The House of Rohan." Not so noble as Meduseld, but entirely liveable.
