A series of events seeming to prove that it is Not My Night:

1. Cell phone decided to die on me, because I didn't think it needed to be charged yet... but it did. So, for housemates, that means you'll be getting a call before I leave the office. Unless I can plug it into the cell charger here in the office... I'm not sure if they're compatible. I kind of doubt it. Fuck me for not sticking my charger in my pack like I thought about doing. *Smacks self*

2. Caught first bus, then waited around for second bus. Decided, after five minutes, that I must have missed it. Started walking. Didn't even get a block away from the bus stop before the bus went tootling on past me. ^$#&@&%. There was much grumbling, but I walked to work just fine and got here on time.

3. Arrived at work and immediately had CLUE ladies going "ooo, Jennifer! There's some kind of water leak over by the espresso stand!" *Headdesk* Do I look like the custodian? Fuck if I know what to do about that! Custodial is not on the work cellphone's speed dial, so I'll have to browse the website... Grrr. I want to go home, now.

Please let that be all there is. Please? Please!

ETA: It is, however, very much worth noting that my dad got a partition put up in the basement which shockingly decreases the cold down there - it's amazing what some nice Value Village comforters and 2x4's can do. It blocks off the car-port from the rest of the basement, and it reminds me of the blanket!forts my friends and I used to make over little apple trees and stuff when we were kids. MUCH warmer than before.

Oh No! Sorry!

That's awful! how often do the (is it 44?) buses run?
If you could walk to school and get there on time, couldn't you have waited for another?
After you've let your phone run completely down 4 or 5 times, you can charge it whenever you want, even if it isn't all the way run down. I charge my'n every night, or at least every other night.
I suppose that since you work 'for the Mary Gates building' the clue people assume that you are in charge of ANY problem, maintenance, or whatever, I'm so terribly sorry that you are having a bad night. I hope that the rest of the evening goes VERY smoothly for you.
Love ya!

On Sundays, the 44 doesn't run very often, and it's more cold (and more stressful, and more boring, and even slower) to wait. I'd rather just walk.

It really isn't that bad, the cell phone is the only thing I'm honestly pissed about. And yeah, a few more times and I'll be able to charge it every night - since it takes four days for it to run down, it's hard to remember when it has to be charged. The CLUE women are honestly pretty nice, they just hoped I knew what to do, 'cause they didn't.

Ahem. "Not very often" meaning about every half hour. I realized after I posted that last comment that it made it look like 'not very often' meant something like an hour. But really - half hour wait, then a few minutes walking, or just a twenty minute walk. The walk was easier.

The walk from Latona and 45th to UW is only 20 minutes?
I have to believe it's longer than that. But I do understand what you mean. Why stand there cold and waiting, when you can be on your way, and generating heat by walking. What about the return trip?
How long is the wait when you get off work tonight?
Hopefully you can time it so you are off with time to get to the bus stop just BEFORE the bus comes instead of just AFTER the bus comes. I hate the thought of you walking all the way home after work. Please don't do that. :(
Was the charger at work compatible with your phone? I would assume that it isn't because they are all so different.
Maybe it WOULD be a good idea to carry it with you when you work just in case.
I hope the rest of your evening is being quiet and peaceful.
for you. Love ya!
I'm so glad that your Dad was able to put up a partition, I bet it really does help a lot.

Nope, just 20. I timed myself all the way from the house to 45th and 22nd, and it was just 30 minutes, and the walk is comparable. The thing from work is dependent on what bus I can catch - I'm hoping tonight I'll be able to get the earlier one and not have quite as long a wait.

I didn't say I was going to walk back - I always wait for the bus on the way back. And no, the charger wasn't compatible. So I probably will start carrying it, at least when I have work.
