Watched the Return of the King Extended Edition tonight with narsilion. Wow. Just... wow. I cannot express how much I loved some of those scenes, and how much some of the extra stuff made me giddy and silly with joy and sadness that it's all over. EOMER! And the Faramir and Eowyn scenes!! And ARAGORN!! I am, obviously, incoherent with it all.

And the cast. Ohmigod they are so cute. The behind-the-scenes stuff was all so wonderful, especially the bit with the horses. I'm such a giddy Rohirrim fangirl it isn't even funny, at this point.

...That damned "anthropological study of the Rohirrim" fic-bunny is biting again. *Sighs* And it's grown in new directions. Owwie. I really need to just write the thing and be done with it.

On a more realistic note, Christmas with narsilion and that side of the family was quite fun - last night we did the extended-family get-together stuff and the opening-presents-at-home thing, then today the immediate family got together for a very nice brunch. Tomorrow is Christmas with Dad's side of the family, which I'm looking forward to. Hopefully the guys (my step-brothers, both still teenagers) won't too much begrudge my now-traditional gift of (woohoo) gift certs. I'm sure they'll like it better than my actually attempting to choose specific movies they'd like or something, at least.

I'm waiting on that - I wanted to see the actual movie first. And I'm glad I did, since I nearly squeed myself to death with a few of those scenes. Ohmigod why did they cut so much of the Rohirrim stuff??!!! I so much adore those people.
