♥ Happy New Year, Everyone!!!!!!
Many thanks to my roomies - to
nekokoban for calling the house all the way from Texas to say Happy New Year, and to
zinjadu and
theladyfeylene for being here - and to
sigelphoenix and Anne, and
zodikins and Adam (ADAM! See, I do know his name!) for coming over to hang out with us, whether for just a few minutes or for hours. And also to everyone who stayed til midnight, for laughing kindly and not smacking me when I got just a weeeee bit more tipsy than I usually allow myself.
The funny thing is knowing that no, I was completely SOBER when I started ranting about Tolkien's writing and the genius of Lord of the Rings, and then insisted on digging out the Lord of the Rings appendices and looking up the exact manner of various people's departures from Middle Earth, and then getting distracted and calculating out Eomer and Eowyn's exact ages during the War of the Ring, and at Eomer's death. That's not drunk - that's just me. *Shakes head* Thank you, Kari, for being one of the only people I can truly geek with on that subject without thinking part-way through the conversation, "this person now thinks I'm bat-shit insane."
Best wishes to all my friends, and everyone here on LJ, too, whether or not I know you in person.
Resolutions for 2005:
1. Be better at keeping in touch with friends, especially the ones I love but hardly ever get to see anymore. Damn busy life, I shall not let you mess up my friendships this year.
2. Procrastinate less. Try to get projects done early, whenever possible.
3. Be a better seneschal. This is partly the last resolution re-worded, but it's also me drilling into my head "remember to go to meetings, remember to keep track of things, remember to go to events," etc.
4. Try like hell not to take out my bad moods on my mom or my roommates. Yes, I get pissy about work/classes/whatever, but that's not reason to get all prickly and contrary. At least not a good reason.
And now, to go put on a sweater. And maybe get dressed in real clothes....

Date: 2005-01-02 11:15 pm (UTC)The party was fun, only had one drink, and one glass of champagne as I would be driving home. Was funny because Jeff got quite tipsy, Kaylee couldn't because she had to spend the night at a house where the people were out of town, so at 1:30 in the morning she's leaving her own house/party to stay at someone elses house to watch their dogs. She was very grumbly. I hope it's very slow at woek tonight and that you have an easy go of it. Did Terra get back ok?? I've decided to keep your little man, love him too much to give him up now. MWAAHAHAHA!!!

Date: 2005-01-03 01:34 am (UTC)Glad the party was fun - poor Kaylee! It should be a slow night tonight, given the quarter hasn't even started yet, but you never know.... *sighs* And yes, Terra got back this afternoon at about 4pm. So we're all settled back in!
Hey!! MY kitty!!! XD
