the irony is not lost on me

The irony of an American pagan celebrating St Patrick's Day is not lost on me, but honestly, at least here on the west coast, it's more of a celebration of Ireland and Irish heritage, and that I'm definitely all for. Regardless of the whole thing with the snakes and religious associations thereof.

Happy St Patrick's Day to all who celebrate!

Now, I go with zinjadu to get lumber for Kari to make into an entertainment center of sorts.

Happy St. Pat's Day to you too! I think it's basically viewed as a celebration of Ireland in most places. Wear green, get drunk, pinch people...that's about it. (not that any of those things have to do with Ireland or Irish people but that's how the holiday seems to be celebrated)

Yeah I was resolved not to celebrate st. patrick's day today for same ironic reasons... Christian domination of another indigenous religion and all that.... but I figure, what the hell! Today it's all about green and beer (and green beer?) and being Irish! And, I'm part Irish (a very small part...) so I figure, bring it on!
