I didn't agree with everything he stood for, but from what I've read and heard and seen, he was a great man.

Rest in peace, Pope John Paul II. My condolences to my Catholic friends, and the Christian community at large.

I'd listen to a requiem or something, if I had one, but this is as close as I can get... and weirdly appropriate, considering my current research. I think the good Professor might appreciate the irony.

I think that works too. Tolkien probably would have approved. :)

But if you want some requiem music, let me know. I've got lots of Mozart.

Yup. And I usually listen to the soundtrack while doing my research, anyway, so it works well.

Ooo, I might very well take you up on that some night when I'm on AIM or something. The one I'd really love is part of Brahm's Requiem, but nobody I know seems to have any Brahms.

I can ... errrm ... acquire it from IRC if you'd like--Brahm's Requiem that is.

Ooo, really? I don't know much about IRC, how would that work?

I found a couple copies.... I downloaded one and put it on my webserver: http://otter.zapto.org/brahms ...make sure to right click->save target as. If you IM me when you're getting them, I can probably speed them up a bit (I can upload as fast as 40KBps, but most of that is usually in use), but it'll still take a while (an hour or so), they're 129MB in total. Hopefully that's what you wanted... it's a choral piece?

Yeah, the choral bit is the one I'm looking for. We sang part of it in glee club one summer, and I totally fell in love with the sound. Thank you!

Hi there! I owe somebody $8.00 and some shoes, interested in a ride home?
I have a different van (the one from Friday is back in the shop, so we don't have to worry about overheating on the way home. I had to stop twice Friday to let the poor thing cool down and had to put more water in it, very late evening. Definately a problem there, hope it's not too expensive!
Love ya!

Lol. $8 and some shoes sounds totally random, even though I know what you mean. Yeah, I'd be up for it - made the mistake of wearing the new shoes and they kind of hurt the heel of my left foot (my fault for walking all the way to work, I guess...)

hmmm...they hurt the "heel" of your "left" foot. That's funny, they hurt the "top" of my "right" foot. LOL See you when you get off work, hope the computers straighten out.

Yeah, isn't that funny? I always get this with shoes that have too low of backs, though - they scrape the stick-out-y bone on the back of my heel and give me blisters. *Sighs*
