sickness invades
Apr. 11th, 2005 11:36 amHouse Grimmauld has been infected with some sort of evil stomach bug.
I woke up at about 2:30 last night to Kari saying she needed my help. I am now convinced that there's something genetic in all women that switches on sudden and complete wakefulness upon hearing that particular "Moooommmmmm, I'm siiiiick," sort of tone from someone. I don't think I've ever woken up so fast.
So far (*knock on wood*) the worst I've felt is nauseated and slightly stomach-cramp-y, but I'm not taking any chances. Especially not since we think it might be the same 24 hour bug
theladyfeylene and
narsilion both seemed to've had over the weekend. Since I was up til about 4:30 with Kari and then took a long time to fall asleep, I skipped lecture this morning and slept til almost eleven. I'd feel guilty if I hadn't immediately felt kind of ill on getting up... as it is, I think this was the best plan. So I'm home drinking very watered-down juice, contemplating another piece of dry toast, and planning to just work on my paper and fic and take it very easy today.
Good news is, while I was lying awake last night I managed to get through reciting all of "Roman Wall Blues," "L'albatros," and Puck's closing monologue from "Midsummer Night's Dream," most of the first scene between Titania and Oberon in Act 2, and part of a monologue (learned in highschool) from Romeo and Juliet. Also discovered that I don't remember my old audition monologue from "Crimes of the Heart" anymore, and can't get through more than the first lines of any of the Byron poems I used to know by heart. I need to memorize stuff again - it's good therapy when I'm not feeling well.

Either way, I hope everybody feels better soon.
