There's something truly bizarre about hearing a song you know so well you could sing it in your sleep, by an artist whose voice might as well be in your veins along with your blood... and finding that it's a different version, with very different lyrics on one verse. Sent shivers up my spine.

...In other news, we practiced archaeological survey techniques looking for pasta on the lawn on campus today in archaeology lab. It was actually quite fun.

ETA: And one more music bit - I finally found a song I haven't heard since my senior trip to Hawaii almost four years ago. "Lovefool" by The Cardigans puts so many memories in my mind... It came up a lot on our drives around the island. I have the taste of Kauai roads in the back of my throat, now. *G*

If this is about I Will Remember You... I felt the same way when I heard the b-sides/rarities. Though that was a long time ago.

Yup, it is. Sorry, I wrote it as my music and forgot to mention it in the text of the entry.

Beyond the second verse, it's only got as much variation as is standard between different recordings... but the totally different second verse totally threw me for a loop. I love that.

See you tonight? I will endeavor to remember Fey's gift. (yeah right, my mind, she is a sieve) ;D

On an online radio station. It was lovely, and almost makes me consider buying the "Rarities and B Sides" CD it's from. Not that I haven't considered that before, of course.

See you tonight!

I have to admit every time I have your livejournal open and I see the title "In the springtime of the year" the song "Springtime for Hitler" from The Producers starts playing in my head. <3

LOL!

Okay, I was actually meaning to refer to "The Mummers' Dance" by Loreena McKennit... but now I'm not sure I'll be able to see it without thinking of The Producers, either!
