Morning irritations:

Thinking I'd lost my bus-pass for just long enough to make me run late.
Forgetting my book (Wicked is really good!).
Seeing the #44 drive by as the #26 is just pulling up to the intersection.
Getting stopped for 5 minutes on 45th because the bus ahead of us had its mirror clipped off by a careless truck.
No grades yet. Aren't grades supposed to be posted by the Monday after finals??
An LJ-cut I reeeeeeally want to click, labelled "not work-safe." ;)

Other than those few little teeny things, it's been a good morning. *Yawns* Really, I will clean my room more when I get home. It needs it. Badly.

oh fun.

Well, isn't this a pretty little brain-washing facility we seem to have found?

My friend [livejournal.com profile] shoeless_girl linked to this entry: http://www.livejournal.com/users/littlepassion/17248.html. It includes a link to the original entry, and the rules/codes of conduct for a purported camp that seems to be intended to rewire gay kids. I'm still trying to look everything up to see if it's legit - the website someone claimed to've found for the organization doesn't seem to exist. It's also possible, judging from some of the comments on the entry linked above, that someone/s took it into their heart to crash their server. I can't decide whether or not to be happy about that, if that's the case. Hassle for the organization, but also a hindrance to fact-checking.

Here's a link to a summary of the group, though - http://www.mikeditto.com/archives/kudos_to_queer_action_coalition

And a link to the pertinent entry in the blog of a kid supposedly being sent there.

Samples of the more ludicrous rules: )

I'll just step back for a minute to say that I'm not saying "supposedly" and "purportedly" for any reason other than that I'm leery of things like this turning out to be hoaxes - I don't want to be passing along false information and holding it up as the absolute truth. This is just what I've found. The rules to this place are beyond belief, so I'm a bit skeptical about the whole thing. I'm going to keep digging for a bit, but I thought everyone should know.

Just finished reading Wicked. Still absorbing. It was... very interesting.

Also working on London: The Biography and will be starting The Kite Runner tomorrow, probably.

Totally stymied (again) on writing. No matter how I push, I just don't know where this stupid story is going anymore. Whenever I think I've had a break-through, a bit of writing at it puts me right up against a wall again. I'm ready to drop it and move on to something else, but I honestly don't have any other projects that feel a hell of a lot more steady, at the moment. Grrr. Hopefully I'll have an epiphany when I try to work on it tonight.

Made braised (sort of) baby bok choy and a black-pepper tuna steak for dinner. Ye gods, I love good tuna. It's soooo good.

One more grade to go. I'm soooo happy about the grades I've got so far, though. Yay! I got a 4.0 on my honors thesis! I keep refreshing to make sure it isn't some kind of accident, seriously.

3.7 in Archy. Which is just fine by me. Still waiting on Anthro. That'll be the killer, if there's gonna be one... Please please please let it keep my cumulative at or above 3.75. I'm sorry, it's stupid, but I want that "cum laude" on my diploma, damn it, and I've got it at the moment, before factoring in this quarter. *Crosses fingers*

Have I mentioned I don't feel like the quarter is officially over until I've gotten all my grades? Yeah. Neurotic and crazy, but so very true.
