One more grade to go. I'm soooo happy about the grades I've got so far, though. Yay! I got a 4.0 on my honors thesis! I keep refreshing to make sure it isn't some kind of accident, seriously.

3.7 in Archy. Which is just fine by me. Still waiting on Anthro. That'll be the killer, if there's gonna be one... Please please please let it keep my cumulative at or above 3.75. I'm sorry, it's stupid, but I want that "cum laude" on my diploma, damn it, and I've got it at the moment, before factoring in this quarter. *Crosses fingers*

Have I mentioned I don't feel like the quarter is officially over until I've gotten all my grades? Yeah. Neurotic and crazy, but so very true.

Wheeee! We can be neurotic and crazy together!

...Oh wait. We already do that, don't we? :D But it's fun!

We haven't gotten our evaluations yet. We got numbers, but the profs actually write up comments about our performance (or at least put check marks in a grid to tell if our performance met expectations or not). We finished classes May 9. Kinda stupid.

Yay, 4.0! I'm so happy for you! If I were there, I'd buy you a drink!

Does this mean you're done? Last quarter? Graduated? *poor memory*

Eeee, so when do the comments get mailed to you? That's crazy that it's taken them more than a month!

Well, since I didn't get the chance to take you out for surviving your first year, we'll just have to take each other out when you get back to Seattle permanently. XD

Kind of. I might be taking another year, or I might apply for graduation and get my diploma in December. I'm finished with my English degree, so it all depends on whether I want to get an anthropology degree in addition. I'm going to be deciding over the summer, based on how I feel and how the job market is and all.

Well, they keep saying that they're waiting on a few more evaluations from the physician preceptors. *shrugs* We'll get them when they're finished, I suppose. I just hope they come in the next week and a half so I can get them in person and don't have for them in the mail.

Yes, drink later, when I'm in Seattle. Deal. ;-)

How close are you to an anthropology degree? I saw you might be taking Danish. Why Danish?

Ahh, that makes sense. Still, how annoying! Next week... is that all the longer you're staying in Pullman? Wow. I thought it was a whole-summer thing!

I think I worked out the progress to an anthropology degree and found it was about a year... I'd better go over that again, to be sure. It'd suck to be wrong. ;)

Yay, that'll be fun!

Ya, I move out of Pullman on June 27 and drive to Republic, where I'll be shadowing a doctor through the month of July. It will be a good experience, but it will be very busy and I won't have internet access except to post my homework assignments. In August, sometime, I'm moving to Seattle but I'm not sure when. I really want to spend some time with my family then, you know?

Good luck with your degree!

Oh, that's right - I'd forgotten about the thing in Republic! I'm sure you'll have fun there and learn a lot.

Just drop us a note or call my cellphone when you know when you'll be settled back in here, so we can all find a time to get together!

Come on Anthro grade!
Let us know as soon as you do, please!

Congrats on the thesis, you certainly worked hard for it :)

I checked mine last night too, and was denied my 4.0 in stat.

Thanks!

Awww, that's too bad. But you still did well, and it was kind of a nasty class. I sure as hell won't be getting a 4.0 if/when I take that one.

I can imagine.

I'm going to be a WRECK when I'm in college, no doubt. I mean, I have to try so hard right now in high school? Yeah, I'm screwed.

Good to see it *IS* possible to get good grades in college, though. Before you, all I've heard are horror stories. >>

I think you'll be fine - as long as you work hard, college really isn't all that awful, especially not as awful as people make it out to be sometimes. Some of it will depend on what kind of school you're going to (bigger schools have more trouble with students "slipping through the cracks," so to speak), and a lot depends on what course of study you take, but it is completely possible to do well in college, even without giving up a personal or social life.

The stupid things really seem to get students when they come to college - all of a sudden, they aren't required to go to class... so they don't. Their teachers don't harp on getting assignments done and don't give every possible chance for late grades or whatever... so they don't turn things in. Or do the reading, which is really really important for some areas of study.

Was this your last year of highschool, or is it next year?

From: [identity profile] bluerose16.livejournal.com
I can't see that happening to me. I have never cut class in my life, and I don't care what they say, not showing up IS cutting class. And not turning something in? It would bother me to no end. >>

I still have one more year of high school. Though most tend to slack off senior year, I've a feeling I'm going to be grinding my nose yet again. At least - did you find junior or senior year to be more difficult? In high school, I mean.

If you have that good a work ethic in highschool, I don't envision you having too much trouble with college. Have you gotten a fair amount of practice writing essays in your classes? That's another thing that will really help you. If you haven't, though, don't be too scared - most 100-level classes that require a paper are pretty good about going over what they want from you, and I think most colleges have writing centers and stuff that you can go to for help.

In my highschool, junior year was the worst. I had two AP classes, Chemistry, and my last year of math that year, whereas my senior year I only had one AP class (English, so I was a happy camper) and mostly got to take fun things, like psychology. The catch, for me, was that senior year was very stressful because of college applications, and then finding a summer job, so it evened out a little bit.

Oh, so much. So many essays. I was in AP Composition this year, so yeah. WOo, the writing.

I took two AP and an honors course this past year, three APs next year. French English and Govt. Oh, joy and rapture.

Sorry to be short, time is ticking. :waves hi:
