happy solstice!

Happy winter solstice (or summer solstice for my friends in the southern hemisphere) to all those who celebrate! At long last, after tonight the days should be slowly getting longer, and maybe some of the winter dull that's fallen over life will slip away. I'm really looking forward to that this year - I already feel a lot more vital than I did, what with the new job, but the coming of spring will be a very good thing, I think.

Tonight, for the first time, I'm going to try for an all-night vigil. Since I don't have work tomorrow (today's my Saturday thanks to the schedule I keep at the bookstore), and since I finally have someone to go through it with me, it seemed like the perfect choice. And, fortunately, I have more than enough to do to keep me busy up til then. Laundry, grocery shopping, bill-paying, returning library books... all these things have been getting put off thanks to the "omigod new job!" rush. So now I have to get back to making my life a little bit more functional. As in, having clothes to wear and food to eat. ;)

But! I've also been making decent progress on fics over my lunch breaks, so that's good. And it's a bright, sunny day here in Seattle, which always deserves a bit of celebration.

Now. Where the hell did I put my tea cup last night?

twelve sexy characters

A (online) fortune cookie last night told me to spend more time with my imaginary friends. Considering how much of my life is spent carrying around various characters and prepping/plotting/working on fic... I really do sort of wonder whether I'm not perhaps spending enough time with them already. o_O

But, since I consider it wise to take advice from baked goods, I see from theladyfeylene that there is a meme going around to list the twelve fictional characters that one would happily sleep with. Sort of like a twelve days of Christmas, only... smuttier. Yes, I just said smuttier, and I'm aware that's improper English. But I'm tired and feeling random. So there. :P

The meme seems to involve posting pictures. I don't feel that organized at the moment, but if you don't know who someone is and you're curious to see them, let me know and I'll see if I can oblige.

( This will probably not surprise anyone who's known me very long, but I'll try to make it entertaining nonetheless. )
