weekend update

I live, and I even write. I've got the draft version of a Sort of Big Project finished, and now I can edit it and then get back to my regular steady diet of fic-writing... Working on this other thing has invoked my usual magical ability to come up with all sorts of fun fic-bunnies while I'm supposed to be working on something more important and actually deadline-having.

Good weekend, lots of fun seeing people (including cyranocyrano, who gave me a really awesome jar of "Mead Moon" from BPAL!) and doing things and cleaning the fish-tank. Which led to some amusing comedy-of-error events, including turning off my alarm clock with my foot and not discovering said fact until this morning at 7:18, oops. And we gathered walnuts down by the lake, which will hopefully mean tasty walnuts and nifty brown ink for calligraphy at some point in the future.

the center of a blackhole would be the hottest party ever!

So, apparently CERN's Large Hadron Collider is starting up on Wednesday. I have a sort of a morbid desire to have a "Black Hole Party" to celebrate - if only I'd realized ahead of time how close it was! We could have required all-black outfits and made up astronomically-themed cocktails.

I love when people proclaim impending doom surrounding specific incidences. It's always hilarious to watch the whole thing go all y2k on them and fizzle out into history.

...That said, am I right in thinking that Torchwood's audio is supposed to be released that day, and themed around the same collider? That ought to be... exciting... for some definition of the word, at least. ;)

because from what I've read, it's pretty much the truth...
