Well, that was fun.

I was upstairs closing a room when I suddenly felt so light-headed I had to sit on the floor for a minute. Needless to say, I'm in the office now, drinking a juice and eating carrots - it's possible I let my blood-sugar get just a bit too low or something.

Or maybe I'm just allergic to work.

You haven't had a physical in years....maybe it's time. You could be aneimic....aniemic.... Crap that doesn't look right, but you know what I mean!

Anemic. I might be, I suppose, but I kind of doubt it - possibly that's just my mental construction of anemia, though. I think it's more likely that I'm just still struggling to some extent with that cold I had or something. *Shrugs* Yeah, it probably wouldn't hurt, anyway.

I once had the exact same reaction to a sudden change in altittude/temperature (going from the extremely hot outside to the cold damp of a parking garage), and had to sit down for a bit. It may not be anything, but it could, as stated above, also be anemia. Your idea of eating something and getting your blood sugar up was right on. Of course, having recently been sick probably had a part to play too. Nine times out of ten, a combination of stress, a recent cold and lack of food can, in the vulgar argot, fuck your shit right up.

Exactly. I get dizzy spells... not exactly frequently, but often enough that I'm relatively used to them. Especially when I was younger, they were fairly common. And between the stress of the end of the quarter, finding new roommates, a recent cold, and not eating as much as I usually do that day... yeah. I doubt it's anything too serious.

Be careful! I hope that's a one time thing. Maybe you were overcome with anticipation of another exciting archy lecture on cultural sensitivity?

God, that must be it. I just can't handle the excitement of those lectures...

did you feel better after your snack? If it happens often, get checked out. But yeah, we can usually tell when we get low on fuel. Did you get short of breath? Usually with anemia that can happen and you'll have a general fatigue, not an acute episode like that. More than likely you were right on with your assumption.
*Unless* it continues.

I did, yeah. I used to get dizziness fairly often when I was in middle school/highschool, but it's become pretty infrequent, now, and skipping breakfast or another meal during the day seems to be the cause. No shortness of breath, or anything, but I'm keeping an eye on it. Probably just a stress/not much food thing. ;)

My main concern is that anemia runs in my family (the females of my family, anyway) At one point my crit was 16. She probably is right about her blood sugar level, but, Mom's worry. I don't want her to go through things that the other gals in my family have gone through. :P It's been so great reading about your trip to see our gorgeous Highlander guys, thanks for sharing with those of us who didn't have the opportunity to go. It was fun to live through you all vicariously!

I skipped breakfast yesterday, and didn't eat quite as much in the evening as I usually do - I think that was the cause. I felt a little off a few other times during the evening, but I feel fine today, so I think it was just a bit of low blood-sugar or something.
