drabbles!

Skipping ahead for a moment, because I still haven't either figured out a sequel to the Hagrid, Snape, and ferrets story, or done my fact-checking for the Wicked drabble, I thought I'd deal with penmage's request for DS9: "Anything with Dr. Bashir, as long as Ezri doesn't feature and Jadzia isn't a romantic interest. Maybe - Bashir and Garak?"

I'm not sure what happened to this one - I've been struggling and fighting to come up with something that I felt would properly encompass their wonderful relationship (oh, I do love those two), but in the end... this is what I came up with. It's a bit trifling, but I think it fits.


“And you’re sure this is how it’s supposed to taste?”

“It’s coffee, Garak. I told you to add cream and sugar...”

“No, Doctor, that’s exactly what surprises me - it completely lacks the cloyingly sweet and rich flavors I associate with Terran food.”

“You sound impressed.”

“I am, very.”

“So you like it?”

Garak set the cup down with something approaching reverence. “It’s appalling, Doctor. I’ve never tasted anything so foul in all my life.”

“Garak...”

“You’ve always said you want the truth from me. I hate this.”

“Well, you don’t have to look quite so happy about that...”



The next drabble is for zodikins, who requested another rendition of Snape, Hagrid, and ferrets. I'm not sure exactly what she's trying to get me to do with those three things (just kidding!), but hopefully this will amuse.


Big Furry Man was nice, but Elly and Evan got bored of his den. It was full of heavy things, with nothing sparkly or shiny. Nothing fun to play with. So they went exploring, further out to the stony place that was full of feet and bags and paper to rip - that was always fun. The best was when they could get down the looooong stairs to the dark, cold places. There were shinies down there, and so many things that made wonderful noises when pushed off shelves, Elly and Evan loved every minute.

Until Angry Man caught them, anyway.

Poor little ferrets. Hagrid should keep more shinies on his person so as to avoid ferrets ending up as potion ingredients.

Whee! It's not very plotty, so as long as people know who the character are I figure it'll make sense. As much as anything I write makes sense, anyway.

He should! (And yes, I was trying very hard not to picture Snape assigning his seventh years "potions that can be made with ferret parts.")

First years, Jen. Think of the trauma that it would give them all, he'd so give it to first year Hufflepuffs. "Now, children, come up and get a ferret. Make sure to kill it quickly so it will not suffer." XDDD

I caved and downloaded Image Ready. Fey says that doesn't expire so I've been getting used to that. And I made a not bad animated icon like... just now. *power poses* =D I'm preparing for the day that I cave once more and buy myself a damn paid account. 9_9 XD

And Image Ready is really easy to use if I can use it and not get frustrated. You can't do anything horribly fancy, but then I don't like the horribly fancy stuff anyway.

*pokepoke* So, are you gonna come over tomorrow? Or do you want me to head over to the house? I'm starved for human contact!!!! *glomps*
