Jul. 3rd, 2005 01:24 pmThe first drabble of the day goes to
lokapala, who requested Highlander, with Methos and Rebecca, Greece, and an "inappropriate" topic of conversation. This was not entirely what I'd intended, but Methos is rarely truly cooperative. ;)
“A dancer?” Rebecca rolled her eyes. “The stories you tell, Methos...”
“Back in Greece.” He sprawled back on the chaise, as though to show off the grace of his claimed former profession. “Very popular in my time, too. I danced for pharaohs, emperors...”
“And Horsemen?”
He rolled on his side, tossing her a glare before answering lightly, “They never cared much for art. Kronos did compliment my flexibility, though. With good reason.”
“I can imagine.” Rebecca sighed, shaking her head. “Your choices of men, old friend...”
“Appalling, I know. Maybe I make up for it with my taste in women.”
For
ellid, the request was Severus and Remus at the movies.
“It’s popcorn, Severus - just try it.”
“That girl put enough butter and salt on it to kill a hippogriff.”
Remus popped a handful of the kernels into his mouth, grinning as he settled into the overstuffed seat. “Your loss, then.” He watched as his companion shifted and eyed the crowd around them. Severus sat straight and glared at anyone who looked at him.
As the lights dimmed, Severus continued to glower, but he paid rapt attention as the previews began, and he didn’t pull away when Remus twined their fingers together. In the darkened cinema, he didn’t mind being together.
And for
zinjadu, here's a replacement. I was having a horrible time coming up with anything for Data and Geordi to talk about, so what I ended up with was a silly little bit with Mal, Kaylee, and Inara.
“What’s this?”
Mal looked up at Kaylee, then back down, and shrugged. “Dunno. Maybe try opening it.”
“But you--”
“Found it. On that derelict. Might be something you’d need, that’s all.” He didn’t look at her.
Kaylee pried the lid up and gasped. “Captain! Raspberries!” She bounced up and kissed him on the cheek, then over to Inara to show off her prize. “Maybe Book can make something with them.”
“Not enough there to cook with. Just take ‘em, and get back to work.”
Inara smiled as she watched Kaylee bounce off, the box tucked tightly to her chest, then turned back to Mal. “That was very kind of you, Captain.”
Mal sprawled back in his chair, looking up at the cieling. “Like I said, I found ‘em on the derelict.”
“Of course. And it had nothing to do with Kaylee loving fresh fruit.”
“Nothing at all.”
“Book’s a very resourceful cook,” Inara commented. “I’m sure he could’ve managed something with those berries. But, then, it wouldn’t have made Kaylee smile like that, would it?”
“Wouldn’t know.”
Inara shook her head. “I do believe there’s a caring person underneath all your bluster, after all.”
“Just looked like something she needed.”
And now I'm off to do a bit of grocery shopping. I really will get to your prompt,
sigelphoenix, I promise - Elphaba is being typically troublesome and con-communicative. ;)

Date: 2005-07-03 08:37 pm (UTC)ZOMG YAY! That's just so damn cute, and you've really got their speech patterns down, even Inara. I'm impressed with how fast that was. Yay for Mal & Kaylee! OMG they are so father-daughter!♥
Really, give me a Firefly prompt and I'll go for it. (If you've noticed I'm the kind of person that needs prompts.)

Date: 2005-07-03 10:32 pm (UTC)Mal and Kaylee both took a bit of work, but I'm really surprised at how easily they're coming, for only having seen five episodes... Hopefully I'll be able to pin things down more firmly, as I keep watching.
Jayne and Mal, talking about women. Simon and/or Wash can be there, too, if you like. Even Book, if you like. Just the guys, talking about their troubles with women.

Date: 2005-07-03 10:41 pm (UTC)Ooookay. That's gonna be more of a ficbit than a drabble. And Wash'd get beaten in that conversation. He's getting laid on a regular basis.

Date: 2005-07-03 10:24 pm (UTC)Yay for Methos' tastes =)
I say, you should ask for drabble requests more often... *plots*
Oh, and you should write more. Definitely. That concerns Interference too...

Date: 2005-07-03 10:30 pm (UTC)I shall, then - I love having prompts for things I can write on the short term, without worrying how to make a whole chapter or story out of them. *g*
Awwww, thank you. I'm really happy to hear you say that, I've been feeling a little off with my larger projects lately, especially Interference, so a little kick in the pants to keep working is just what I need.
