Still not officially on or off jury. Am called back at 9am tomorrow, presumably for final decisions as they told us we weren't going to be called at all on Friday. I certainly hope they're not going to back down on that.

Re-watched "Jaynestown" last night with the roomies while doing some sewing, which was nice. Hopefully will be doing more tonight, as well as actually remembering to do my writing. I got some done in the jury room today, but not a lot - I'm no longer used to writing by hand, and was edgy doing so in such a confined space.

Tomorrow afternoon, I will be going in for my first real day at my new job. I'm so damned excited.

I'm also finally finishing Unless by Carol Shields... which is a really bizarre book. I mean really bizarre. Me, I still am fond of books that do a lot less stream-of-consciousness writing. Maybe that makes me a traditionalist, but I get tired of books that sound exactly like the inside of someone's head, especially when I'm not sure I like the woman in whose head the book is taking place.

I have read a couple of Carol Shields books, and did not care for them, what made you decide to read this one, she doesn't seem to me like your type of author.
Well, damn, was hoping again today to get online and find that they had released you from your civic duty *g* maybe tomorrow.
I'm so excited about you starting your new job, let me know how it goes, ok??

Heya - you must've gotten on right after this, since I see your post about you crazy left-handers taking over the world. ;)

The book was actually an optional for a class I took last year, but the prof didn't actually tell us it was optional til after I'd bought all my books... so I just kept it. And now, since I'm bored while I'm at jury duty, I've been reading it.

Okay! I think it's gonna be really neat, and I get to learn a new formatting program for it, too. So wheeee.

Heh. Whoops. Sorry about that - I was kind of wondering why you would've read Carol Shields, but you never know......

I loved that episode. Not my favorite, but definitely a fun one.

I think it does a good job of fleshing out the character beyond "Sex, guns and thuggery". The best part of the show for me is that I really enjoyed *all* of the main characters and felt they had a chance to develop. Why won't they make more episodes!?!? *cries*
