I was not dismissed.

That's right, ladies and gentlemen: yours truly will be one of fourteen men and women deciding the verdict in an actual criminal case here in the grand state of Washington.

I just hope this doesn't go any longer than they've said it would.

I also hope I can convince my campus job to let me work tomorrow, and a few hours in the evenings next week, maybe.

Good heavens. I *never* get seated on a jury, and I get called every three years like clockwork (this year I've been called for the 28th of July. Lucky me). I hope it's not something too complicated....

It looks... interesting. It's a criminal case, and that's about all I can say, but I'm kind of pissed off and excited and scared all at the same time.

I'd never been called before. No one I know has ever actually sat on a jury before, as far as I know. So it's a totally new experience, for me. *g*

Meh. My condolences - I was on jury duty earlier this year and it wasn't too awful. Hopefully the case will not be too nasty.
*hugs*

I hope not... at least my fellow jurors seem nice. My favorite guy on the group got dismissed, though, it was sad. We'd been sitting next to each other and smirking about every other person who was dismissed, because it was exactly who we'd expected. And then, bam, he's gone, too, and I'm left.

It was especially sad since he actually wanted to be on the jury, whereas I'd have preferred to go back to work.

Neat! I've always wanted to serve on a jury. ... Big dork that I am.

I'd love it if it weren't for the whole not-making-money thing. Getting paid $10 for a whole day is not my idea of compensation, when I ought to be working both my jobs. *growls* At least it promises to be interesting.

Yeah, that is kinda suck. We arent' way back when, when 10 bucks was compensation. 9_9 Though, I can understand that the Gov't doesn't have that much money to throw around compensating every level of salary that's out there.

Well, tell us about it when its over!

Exactly. I understand why they can't, but it still irks me. Ah well - everyone's been very nice. And the bailiff isn't as creepy as I'd originally thought, which is good, since he's our main contact. He's actually quite nice.

I will, don't worry!

My opinion is that they should compensate at minimum wage for the amount of hours you are there per day. Only fair, I think. After all, the Government did set the minimum wage level.

That's what I was thinking. Minimum wage would be just fine by me.

Bah, sorry to hear that, I was hoping you would get dismissed too. :(
