last minute plans

I'm going on a teeeeensy little vacation tomorrow - my dad and his family are out camping at Fort Flagler (or however you spell that) again, and he called up yesterday to see if I wanted to come out to see them for an evening. So tomorrow after work I'm zipping (faster than a speeding... uh... giant bus.) downtown to the ferry terminal, hopping a ferry to Bainbridge Island, and he'll pick me up over there. Then a few hours with the family, dinner, hang out on the beach, and head back to Seattle via the return ferry.

The funny thing is, just the other day I was thinking how much I really wanted to just go off and do a bit of traveling, even to something close by as long as it meant getting out for a bit. I love Seattle, but sometimes I really get the travelling bug in me still and I just want to go, irregardless of where.

It doesn't hurt that I love the ferry, and haven't been on one in two years. So yay for mini-vacation!

Fort Flaggler is great. The tunnel area is really cool. The place of many a grade school field trips.

Yeah, my cousins and their friends and I went to the tunnels last year... at night. It was kind of creepy. By which I mean that the guys were dorks, and us three girls attached ourselves to each other and squealed a lot. I felt like such a moron, but it was fun.

Well, it sounds like fun. I could stand a little down time too. Guess I'll just have to wait until Sept and the PWFC trip to Vancouver though.
