Give me a character or pairing (that I'm familiar with) and a word/phrase, and I will write you one line of fic here.
...Or, should the spark strike, a bit more. I'm not going to restrain myself to one-liners if something actually hits me. ;)
Oh, and
sigelphoenix? I really haven't forgotten about your Wicked drabble (well, okay, I had, but I remember now!), it's just taking a long time to figure out what to do. Elphaba is, unsurprisingly, a little uncooperative.

Zoe smiled and settled into bed. Just like Wash to be so tired after that last escape he'd fall right to sleep before she even got back from debriefing with the captain. Let him get his rest...
Something rigid and pointy poked her in the rib as she snuggled into the blankets. "What the... oh."
Just like Wash, too, to snuggle up with one of his plastic dinosaurs in her absence. Moving as stealthy as a forward scout, she lifted the brontosaurus from her husband's arms and dropped it on the bedside table. "Thanks for keeping my place."

Date: 2005-08-16 04:47 pm (UTC)"How are you liking the performance, Miss Tam?"
River turned, seeming almost surprised to see Book. "The farcial quality of his dialogue is fascinating, but the interpretation of Shakespeare's poetry is sub-par. Line seven should have been spoken with more bravado. And the corps de ballet..." She made a sour face, sticking her tongue out and rolling her eyes.
Book smiled. "Well, this is an outer world." He straightened his jacket, looking around for the captain and Jayne's signal under cover of a rich man's easy observance of the world. "We can't expect everything to be perfect."

Date: 2005-08-16 05:25 pm (UTC)"So we'll be hitting port on New Delhi in..." Mal trailed off and followed Inara's amused gaze, staring down into the cargo bay, where a pile of pillows and blankets, the widely varying patterns and sizes indicating to him that they'd been snaffled from every corner of the ship, had been constructed into a ramshackle but entirely recognizable fort. He took a wild guess. "Mei mei?"
Kaylee's head popped out of the soft structure. "Yes, Cap'n?"
"I sure hope those pillows are necessary to keep the engine runnin'. Otherwise, I hope you've got a notion to tell me what they're doing down there."
A second head, darker, thinner, and more scraggly, popped out of the cushions. "The velocity of the ship is such at the moment that inertia alone could carry it to terminal destination. Any further fuel usage would be wasteful and counterproductive."
"Ship's runnin' fine, Cap'n," Kaylee concurred. "We've got four hours still til we hit atmo. And it's a pillow fort. Pretty neat, don'cha think?"
"It won't hurt anything," Inara murmured.
Two bright young faces beamed out of their fabric-and-stuffing construction, then disappeared back into the depths, clearly certain they'd be forgiven any indiscretion. He could hear giggling.
"Gorram ship's not a playground," Mal muttered as he walked away. "And I don't wanna hear a word of complaint if Kaylee gets engine grease on your satin cushions."
