I'm home. I've been home for a few hours. I drank tea... I'm doing laundry... I'm reading a book... and it's only 4pm.

To think, just a week or so ago, this would have been the normal state of affairs. Now, I feel like I can't remember the last time I just sat and watched the cat sleep on my desk.

The washing machine either loves me, or it loves to torment me. I'm not sure which. Either way, it only seems to want to run, now, if I am there to coax and visit with it. I'm starting to have flashbacks to the imps in Summon the Keeper. Maybe mini-marshmallows will do the trick? In any case, between it and the cat, I am feeling contentedly needed right now.

Also, the fic that [livejournal.com profile] coramegan requested is threatening to take on dimensions that I wasn't really anticipating. I've never actually tried to make a crossover make sense before. The good news is, this will require some research. Oh, tragedy. Good thing I happen to have the half of the source materials that I haven't recently watched very close at hand. I'm going to knit and watch some DS9, now, woo!

Jen/Washing Machine: new OTP!

It's nice to feel needed. Though, by a washing machine is a little strange :)

Ick, excessive comma use. I must learn how to use commas one day *facepalm*

Lol. Now there's a pairing I really don't need an icon of. ;)

The washing machine, the cat, both my jobs... it's definitely good to feel wanted, but it can get a bit stressful nonetheless!

I would soo love an icon of that!
Lucky you, hanging out watching DS9. Wish I was there with you. So what WAS the crossover pairing that she gave you, I seem to have missed it. Would you like a ride from work to Cora's party on Friday?

Yeah, I watched an episode and a half, then got sucked back into the book I picked up today. *g*

Cora requested Doctors Simon Tam and Julian Bashir sitting around talking together. Technically, she requested 'complaining'... but so far I'm not sure exactly where it's going. It's fun, though!

Nah, I'm fine - there's a bus that goes direct from the Seattle Center to her place, so that should be easy.

That should be great, I can really see Simon and Julian talking, what a great idea!
Ok, well, as long as it's easy. I was going to see if Kari would loan me the Firefly dvd's, but I can do it a different time! I can't wait to read that fic.
What book did you pick up that's got your attention so completely, sounds like something I might want to read!

Somebody has Kari's DVDs at the moment, but I'll let you know as soon as she's got them back. I think Dora's copy is currently being lent out, too.

The newest Tanya Huff book - I just picked it up from the library this afternoon, and I'm already about 2/3 of the way through.

Thanks! *g* It seems to be a peaceable machine, so long as we make sure not to put anything too heavy in it (it gets it throws off the balance and makes it wobble or shut off).
