caffeine, etc
Jul. 28th, 2003 04:57 pmIt's over--I've developed a caffeine habit, I think. Blessedly, I'm avoiding coffee so far--it still upsets my stomach and tends to give me worse jitters, although nothing compared to that horrible incident with the diet coke... ack. No... I'm hooked on chai, of course. And it's not a morning habit, it's the afternoons that kill me. I'd probably *like* it in the morning, but the last time I tried to bring tea with me on my walk to work, I nearly spilled it all down my front. Bad idea.
Margot, it turns out, is not coming back to the house--she's going to college in North Carolina in September, and her dad is going to pay for her rent and bills here for these last two months. *shrugs* Kind of odd... but hey, it's college, I guess, and she always struck me as the "can't stay in one place for more than a few months to save her soul" type, so I'm hardly shocked.
On the good-news side, Chris' girlfriend's dad gave us four cooked dungeoness (that can't possibly be right but I'm too tired to figure out how it's really spelled) crabs to eat. Woohoo!
Mom came over to visit on Saturday and brought me new CLOTHES.... I'm very happy. We also finally tried out the Organic, Wheat-Free, Vegan Bakery down the street--it's pretty good. Something gave my ginger cookie a slightly odd texture and a bit less snap than I'm used to, but it was yummy, especially with milk. And I re-read Order of the Phoenix over the weekend, so that I could get some things for the RP figured out.
I'm looking forward to a camping trip later this week, leaving probably Wednesday afternoon and coming home on Sunday, I think. I'll have to pack tomorrow... hopefully I don't forget anything vital. Hope for good weather for me, up around the Anacortes area. Then, when I get home, I get to see Christine, who is finally home from six months in Russia!!! Wheeeeeee!!!
