I was supposed to work admissions all day today - I like working admissions. This made me very very happy. But of course, when I got in this morning I was informed that I'd actually only be there for half the day, because one of the girls called in sick and of course we need to have two people wandering aorund being bored out of our minds at all times. So despite being happy and perky and generally enjoying life for the first half of the day, I got to do my usual "gee, there's nothing to do!" schtick for the second half.
If I weren't quitting (or at least cutting back my hours significantly) for school, I'd be quitting soon enough anyway. I hate this job. I'm sorry, I know a lot of people in the world do this kind of shit, but I can't stand it. I'm so bored. I just walk in circles through the exhibits straightening things and occasionally interacting with customers when I'm not too gods-damned spaced out to think of anything to say. And then, when I'm totally finished at the end of the day at 5:05, they have the audacity to say that we can't leave until 5:15, and to suggest that we should find (read: "make up") things to do until then. Excuse me? If the work is done (because I was so bored earlier that I kept things clean), I want to go home. The museum's closed, everything's shut off, LET ME GO.
The kids are cute, and the parents are mostly really nice, but it's not worth the insane boredom and the feeling like I'm going to fall asleep on my feet for the last four hours of the day.
Also, to the nice old grandma lady who said our bathrooms were a "health hazzard" (sic) - dude, what the hell do you want? They're cleaned all the time! Would you like us to zip in there every time someone puts a diaper in the (perfectly sanitary) receptacle and run it out to the dumpster? It's a fucking children's museum, there are babies everywhere, where the hell do you get off bitching that the bathroom shouldn't smell like diaper?! Smells don't make a place unsanitary, anyway!

B)smell like a public bathroom, and when it's a place with lots of young children and babies, it's going to smell like diapers.

I went to such a cool party tonight! It was a women's spa party, and they had a skin Dr., a foot masseuse (spelling) a company that sells natural skin care and bath and beauty products, 2 people from Ashmead school of massage giving 20 minute massages, dinner, drinks and desserts.
I had such a wonderful time, and I won a container of Lavender bath salts and a big container of Lavender body wash (all organic). And the name of the company that was selling the products? "Serenity!"
Ooh, the foot massage, and the upper body massage (on the full massage bed, not a chair, were pure heaven, the food was wonderful, and everyone was soo fun!! Great night!
