  1. british accents:
I'm a horrible, shallow person, and British accents are extraordinarily sexy. That's really all that needs to be said here, I think.
  2. cuddling:
This one can go in a sexual sense, of course, but I'm also very much a fan of the puppy-pile type cuddling my friends and I are prone to, especially at our favorite bubble tea place. We end up on top of each other, sitting on people's laps, heads on each other's shoulders or knees... nobody cares. That's companionship, there.
  3. erotic literature:
I admit it - I'm not a huge fan of visual porn. Pictures, okay, yes - if they're aesthetically done, I like them. Movies... are not my thing. Literature, however... now there, you've got me. Leaves more scope for the imagination, which is damned handy for me since my 'type' of guy usually isn't the sort in porno flicks.
  4. gaelic:
I'm fascinated by the sound of Gaelic languages - I have a decent number of songs in various dialects, and I love listening to the way the words flow together. The only language higher on the fascination quota is Old English - I honestly think something in my blood responds to that language, on a really basic level.
  5. horses:
I am such a girly girl for saying this, but yeah, I love horses. Love watching them, drawing them, riding them - the whole bit. Don't get to do any of it often enough, sadly, but it delights me every time I do.
  6. lucius/narcissa:
My number one canon HP pairing. I prefer see them as genuinely in love (an attitude that seems to be upheld by some of what Cissa says in HBP) and I love the notion that Narcissa knows what he's involved in, doesn't agree with it necessarily, but loves him enough that it doesn't really matter. There's a lot of dramatic potential there, I think.
  7. pre-raphaelites:
You've seen the paintings - they're used on a lot of bookcovers, nowadays, the soft, Victorian paintings with women whose faces all seem to have oddly similar features and a lot of medieval or classical costumes and themes. "The Lady of Shalott" by Waterhouse is a common example. They're very warm, and appeal to my obsession with mythology and legend.
  8. sarah mclachlan:
I heard 'Adia' for the first time in my freshman year of highschool, and then later my dad brought home Surfacing, and I fell completely in love. I like her earlier stuff a bit better right now - she did some fabulous covers of songs, really light and more folksy than her more recent, but her voice and lyrics always seem to connect to me.
  9. tea:
Hot and spicy and irresistably various in flavors and possibilies - tea is definitely one of my luxuries. I'm especially fond of chai, but I also love Earl Grey, a good Irish Breakfast, and various herbals. Next to alcohol, it's the best thing to help my writing.
  10. wisdom:
Heh. This is kind of a silly interest, isn't it? Well, as a perpetual student (I admit it, I'm terrified of that dreaded Real World and have no idea what I'll do when I'm forced out into it), I'm always after knowledge, too, but the deeper level beneath that, wisdom, seems to me to be more about understanding the why rather than the what of things, and getting a more instinctual understanding, on a more spiritual level.
