Eh, those aren't pagans. They're kids that just discovered their first Slayer album. The UK has always been rife with weird psuedo-satanism and dumb antics. I don't think anybody but the already prejudiced would confuse some friendly mead-drinkering Goddess-embracers for a bunch of dudes in torn up black T-shirts saying "Blood for the blood god."

I know they aren't. But you'd be amazed what people will think. There are still crackpots out there who have no idea what paganism is all about, and plenty who still think it's witchcraft or devil-worship.

I'm probably being at least a bit paranoid, but I hate to look at that sort of thing and wonder how long it'll take before someone blames the group I generally fall under the heading of.

Oh, I know you you know. I just think that most people who matter know too. Christian fundies and their blathering brethren aren't going to be convinced anyway. I'm just saying this isn't worth getting worried about. Most people who matter don't give this kind of stuff much credence and the people who do don't matter.

How's school treatin' you?

It just doesn't take a lot to get me onto a "not all pagans are whackos!!!" type of spiel, I'm afraid. Nothing quite like looking at the dominant image of your faith and seeing giggling teenyboppers (or aging hippies) playing at being Sabrina the Teenage Witch.

Not bad at all. Folklore is 50/50 boring and fascinating, Gender and Sexuality in Japan is mostly just fascinating, and Native NW Coast Art is somewhere in between. Trying to figure out classes for next quarter, freaking about grad school... the usual. Are you on again this quarter, or taking the quarter off?

I'm going to school this quarter. Right now I'm in Italian 101, which is kinda painful, History of the United States, which is really great but terribly, terribly fast moving, and Space And Space Vehicles, which I just bombed the first quiz on. It's a typical quarter at UW for me.

Maybe I'll get a publishing deal out this write a novel in november thing.
