Well it looks like it's time to play another round of that well-loved game-show "How Did Roz Muck Up Today?"

Today's game: Baking Fun!

The scenario: Today, I decided it would be really cool to make calzones. I got all my ingredients out, set everything up, preheated the oven, and set to work. Now, you'd think calzone are pretty fool-proof, wouldn't you? But no. No, I have mad screwing-things-up skillz.

So how did I do it, you ask?

Well, first I forgot to grease the pan. Then I prepared the calzone *on the counter*, thus ensuring that I'd have to scootch them off the counter and very carefully carry them over to the pan, risking a cascade of pizza sauce and filling all over my *white* pants (yup, that's another mistake--never cook in white pants, unless you're a world-famous chef on the Food Channel. I know the rules... I just don't follow them.)

But none of those are really damning sins, considering I *didn't* spill pizza sauce all over or anything. So what was the real mistake?

I FORGOT THE CHEESE!!!!

Popped 'em in the oven, turned, and saw the unopened package of pre-shredded gourmet quattro fromaggio right there on the counter, right next to where I'd been working. ^#&*()%^$!^@@!! What the hell kind of calzone doesn't have CHEESE????

I'm going to go sulk now, and pray that I don't need a crowbar to get the cheese-less calzones off the cooking sheet.

[Edited to Add] Well, I guess I'm worse than I thought. They didn't need to be crowbarred off--actually, they didn't stick at all. Hooray for small favors. However, they *did* set off the fire alarm, because I apparently left them in a teensy bit too long. So yeah... my cooking disaster is complete. I'm telling myself that, since they're over-cooked, they'll travel better. Alas for the cheese, though.

Aw...calzones are good. Even ones without cheese. ;-)

Yeah, they actually weren't bad. I was pretty pleased with the result, in the end.

But, damn it, I'm remembering the cheese next time! ;)
