Windows Media Player hates the Full Metal Alchemist episodes.

*Goes to find new media player, apparently...*

Media player classic generally works well for most everything, and plays DVD's.

Pick a download site and off you go.

I ended up getting VLC media player, on the recommendation of one of the housemates, right after I posted this. Thanks, though!

VLC is pretty awesome. I think you have made the right decision. :)

Yeah, I've been pretty happy with it, so far!

Yeep. I've never had a problem, actually. I'm sorry it's being a bitch.

It was totally weird - the sound and the video just refused to match up. I've never had issues with it, either, but I tried stopping and restarting, and tried different episodes, with no luck at all.

Got a different media player, though, and now it's working fine. *Shrugs*

Seems me and Windows Media Player have something in common ;)

*Laughs* I like it, myself - I saw the first 35 episodes about a year ago, I guess, and am finally just now getting 'round to watching the end.

1. Full Metal Alchemist is my favourite anime ever. Seriously. I adore it on so, so many levels.

Also, WINAMP.

It's actually the only anime I've really watched. I mean, I occasionally watch bits and pieces of other stuff if my friends are watching it, and I plan on watching Tactics at some point, but FMA is the one I've actually paid attention to. I've still got ten episodes left, but I could only take so much angst in one night. ;)

Yeaaaah, people keep telling me about Winamp. I might switch over, eventually, but I'm a lazy bastard when it comes to programs.

It only gets better and better and better. Scar. :melts:

Let me know what you think of the very ending when you get to it. It's ... I won't say a word. :X

Also, I really love Neon Genesis Evangelion. XD

Poor Scar. *g*

I should be getting to it in the next few weeks. I'm actually kind of bemused, at the point I'm at, as to what the hell they're going to do for these last ten episodes... I'm told it's brain-breaking, whatever it is, though.

Oh yeah, it is brain-breaking alright. I like the end just up to the Ed-goes-through-the-gate bit. Because there's plot twists, and then there's WINSTON FUCKING CHURCHILL. >>; :still fuming about that:

Yeahhhhh.... that ending was one of the biggest HERE LET'S CHANGE EVERYTHING ON YOU IN THE LAST FEW EPISODES moments that I've ever seen. Just... BAM. I was so perplexed.

I could've done without the whole "blah blah blah 'source of alchemy'" thing, too. That was... umm... special.

I did really like the bits with Envy and Gluttony, though. And adorable little Al. XD

I usually like to keep at least 3 different players on hand... if one doesn't work, another will. Of course, there are things that could be done to make the first one work, but that's too much trouble.

Yeah, now I have VLC, WinMedia, and Quicktime, which I figure ought to pretty much cover me. And somewhere I've got a CD to reinstall PowerDVD, but with WinMedia playing DVDs nowadays, that's not all that important.

That's it exactly - there are probably all sorts of ways to fix it, I'm just not quite the kind of tech goddess who can figure them out.

You do have all the updated codecs, right? That's what can mess things up. DivX, FFDshow, and Xvid. I think those are the big three. ^_^

Oh, I had to get FFDshow before WinMedia would even show picture instead of just audio. It was after that when it started with the disconnected-audio/video thing. And VLC ran it fine, so I think I must be okay, now.
