My housemates and I just recieved a letter forwarded to our address from Tacoma for a Ms. Dorcas Nepple. It has no return address, and was forwarded to our address under a second name, that of Brian C. Thompson.
Is is just me, or is that a really hysterical name?
It just sounds like a joke... like a pseudonym or a name from a weird British book. Like something from Good Omens, or Harry Potter or a Terry Pratchett book. If I ever need a name for an old British lady, I'm naming her Dorcas Nepple.
[Edited to add:] The mystery of Dorcas Nepple continues. Totally obsessed with the contents of the letter, my housemates looked up Dorcas on Google and found a Dorcas Nepple who works as a secretary for the Port of Tacoma. Undoubtedly, this is our woman. After all... how many Dorcas Nepples can there BE in Tacoma? Anyway, Chris is emailing her now to let her know that we have her letter, which was wrongly forwarded to our address under the other name on the envelope.
Strangely, I'm really looking forward to hearing a response on this. This whole thing has just amused me way too much. Although I will be quite disappointed if she doesn't turn out to be a nice little old British lady, as I've imagined her.
