Top five, top five... "Hunter" by Dido, "Graceful and Charming" by Great Big Sea, "La Vie Boheme" from RENT, "Defying Gravity" from Wicked, and "Pinch Me" by the Barenaked Ladies.

Short-term aspiration: find a good job for after I graduate. Long-term: finish one novel-length piece of original work that I actually feel proud of.

A little alcove tucked against the windows high up on the third floor of Allen Library here on campus. Used to be the little cafe in our architecture building (because they have couches and more comfy lighting), but I don't have classes in that building anymore.

And no, not particularly. ;) Sometimes I think I would - I think medium to big dogs are beautiful, and I love to visit them, but then I remember that a creature that always wants to be in my space, always wants my full attention, always comes inside smelly and muddy... not necessarily my thing. I'm a cat person, for the most part.

1. 5'3". My almost-5'10" mom can't figure out where the heck I came from. And I won't even talk about my 6' cousins. ;)

My hair is... one of those really intermediate colors. Best thing to say is that it's dark blonde, but I was born strawberry blonde and still have the slightest touch of red, and depending on the amount of sun I get it can go from fairly light-blonde highlights down to almost-brown.

...Betcha didn't think I could make that simple a question complicated, did you?

Well, that's fine - it makes me feel less like I asked a cop-out question (I'm never very creative with these things ;) ).

My hair is red, which makes me very easy to pick out in the photos I post! My first icon ever (and for a while, my only icon) was of me reading "All The Pretty Horses" to a yellow duck puppet, but now I, too, have gone into the icon obfuscation of LJ. I don't look like Harry, Ron, and Hermione. (Although my hair sometimes looks like Hermione's (is supposed to), and is, in some lights, the color of Ron's. How's that for confusing?)
In any case, I'm getting a haircut tomorrow, and will therefore probably have some pic-spam afterwards.

I must admit to a weird preoccupation with knowing what people look like. With LJ and all, I tend to picture them as somehow resembling their icons. For the record, this does not mean that I picture you looking like a bird's nest, but more like someone who, to my mind, looks like someone who would have a pretty, ornate drawing of a bird's nest as their icon. I cannot really describe how I imagine this person would look, but there it is.

No, I totally understand what you mean - it's veeery disconcerting, and I'm sure some psychology grad student could get a lot of material about cognitive associations and stuff out of it. And it can definitely lead to some funny mental situations...

Since I don't seem to have any 'normal' pictures of me online at the moment, here's me at our Halloween party this year: I'm the one in the light pink dress and tiara, next to Indiana Jones. I was supposed to be Galinda, but our Elphaba got sick. Still a fun costume, though. ;)

What I would really like to know is how you are related and connected to all the people on your flist who you know in RL, because I've been trying to figure it out for ages. It's been driving me nuts for a while.

*Laughs* No, I understand - I get curious about the same thing with the folks I know online. I'll try to keep it as simple as I can.

Best to start out with blood - narsilion is my mom. *g*

The rest are my second family - my tribe of housemates and closest friends. The current group at the house is ratzeo, nekokoban, miss_arel, wanderingbeyond and myself, and theladyfeylene, zinjadu, and maymargaret lived in the house at previous times. And then there's coramegan, sigelphoenix, shadawyn, and chasdini, still more of the extended tribe, who haven't lived in this house. ;) With the exception of theladyfeylene and I, we all met in college.

Outside of that, zhapper, tonsai, and singingjana are also former housemates of mine from a completely different housing situation several years ago. gin2001 is a friend I met in... wow, 6th grade. That qualifies her as my oldest friend, now that I think of it. And gurny and was my boyfriend last spring, and has since been quite tolerant of my madness, great guy that he is.

Almost forgot - I also know yimisty, becksbooks, jyuu_chan, stormwolf, sablebadger, ladysonnet, ursule, and pandorasbox from the local SCA (Society for Creative Anachronism), which I'm unfortunately not really finding time for right now. I hope I can get back to it, probably after I graduate.

...And now, I just have to hope I haven't forgotten anybody. *g*

Blargh. Even attempted simplicity makes that look remarkably weird. I didn't mean to hierarchalize (?) people, there, it just made sense to work from the "inside" (house folks and people I see on a regular basis) on outward.

Ah, see it makes a lot more sense now. I think I had figured out already that narsilion is your mom, but for a while I thought she was your aunt. Don't know where that came from.

Dude! Ordered lists and hierarchies (yeah, I can't spell it either) are totally my thing. You should see my friends filters.

You know, the other thing I'm not really sure of is how we became friends. Did I friend you? Or did you friend me after I friended theladyfeylene? I don't even remember how I came to friend her though it probably has something to do with us both being Snupin shippers. Usually I remember where everyone came from, but I can't with you. Strange. So if you remember, could you share?

I'm usually very much *not* of the ordered-lists variety of person (sooo disorganized, that's me), but this time it worked out as the only way I could keep track of everybody. ;)

I think we met off the Snape/Lupin comm? I'm horrible at remembering that sort of thing, but I used to post a fair bit over there, and on nice_to_snape as well. I think you friended me first... I think? It's been a while. *Laughs*
