This is so fun - I can't concentrate on my work, I'm tired, I'm not hungry but I feel unbelievably snacky, and that stupid circuit is out in our kitchen, so I can't make tea to distract myself from the idea of chocolate or cheese toast or whatever other moronic stuff my brain is focusing on. Figures that I'd get the electric tea-pot of the gods and then have some stupid reason that I can't use it.

Fine. I'll go upstairs and boil a fecking saucepan of water for tea, and I might as well just write because I'm sure as hell not getting anything useful done, as it is.

And people wonder why I'm not on AIM - because I'm good enough at distracting myself without it that I'd never get a damned thing done if I actually was online more. *Headdesk*

You have a whole house of distractions :D Sometimes I'm envious of you guys all living together, but on the other hand, I'd always want to hang out. LoL

Er. Speaking of which, when is a good time for couch-dropping off? Mike says he'll probably need Sean there for help.

Writing is good :D

That too. ;)

Uhhh... we tend to be home after 5:30, but you'd have to ask Sean about his work schedule if you need him for that.

Writing is good. Not quite as good as getting my class-reading done, but in the grander scheme of things, I just plain don't care at the moment.

Yup, I totally hear you on that one.

I feel bad - I really don't see even my local friends often enough, except the folks I live with, and then there's a few really important friends out of town that I miss like hell. But any time I'm actually on, it tends to end with either me getting nothing done, or me wandering off and completely forgetting to pay attention to it, and then feeling bad when I come back. :/

Occasionally when I was at school I would get distracted by housemates (I lived in what one would call a dorm, but Smith liked to be all community-oriented and call them "houses") and leave IMs unanswered, but I always hated doing that (and hated when other people did it) and would try to say I was leaving or put up an away message, and at least an idle message kicks in after 10 minutes. I think sometime my junior year of college I just quit signing onto AIM unless I actually had time to talk because I can't multitask while I'm trying to do thinking work. I figure with LJ, e-mail, and the phone, there are sufficient ways for people to contact me.

That's it exactly - I used to have a knack for talking on AIM, writing, and doing my homework all at the same time, but I totally lost it over the last few years. Probably has a lot to do with the work being harder than it once was, but I've lost some of that flexibility, too. And for the rest, I definitely blame my housemates - I can walk upstairs with the intention of just getting a glass of water, and find myself coming back half an hour later... or more. But, hey - that's why I love them.

Yup. I'd go downstairs to get water and come back hours later.

Did Mr. Landlord get back in touch with you guys? It's really important, could be faulty wiring which could cause a housefire. He needs to ge in touch with you guys right away.

He's in touch, they're looking for an electrician. So hopefully it'll be fixed in a day or two.

....Oh dear gods I wish I wasn't in a school lab right now. I had to stop it because I was too afraid I'd burst out laughing!

I need to save this to my computer as soon as I get home. That's just all there is to it!!!

Eh. Sadly, on a second (and longer, since I'm finally at home) look, it's really not timed all that well. Really cute concept, though! I'm just horribly spoiled with vids. ;)

It was cute, just not quite what I'd been hoping for, I guess.

You know, there's not one single thing stopping you from picking the teapot up, moving it, and plugging it in somewhere else for ten minutes.

...It's sad that I thought of boiling water in a sauce pan, but it didn't occur to me in the slightest that I could just move the tea pot.
