more reading, and the green
Mar. 17th, 2006 11:18 amReading list, updated:
Equal Rites, Terry Pratchett
The Telling, Ursula K. Le Guin
Going Postal, Terry Pratchett
A Short History of Nearly Everything, Bob Bryson
A People's History of the Civil War, David Williams
Eeeee, The Telling is such a good book. I can't wait to hear what you think of it,
narsilion - I think it's a really good example of the kind of work Le Guin does.
Happy St Patrick's Day to those who celebrate! There's talk of going to a pub tonight, which is a bit unnerving for me (I don't care for bars where the people are too drunk/loud/packed-in-together), but it's the thought that counts. For what it's worth, I'll raise a beer to whatever Irish ancestors I might have. ;)
And, for the fun of it,
thefridayfive:
1) If you were to star in a movie, who would you want to be cast as your love interest?
So many choices... but in the end, it goes to Viggo Mortensen. Half because he's gorgeous but real and not too-pretty, and thus believable, and half because he's amazing and I'd just plain dearly love to work with him. And because if I had to act across from Johnny Depp I'd be too tongue-tied to speak, let alone act.
2) What genre of movie would you most like to star in?
Fantasy/Sci-fi of course, or a medieval/Victorian period drama.
3) What song would you insist be on the soundtrack?
Ooo... again, so many wonderful options. I think I'd plead for an up-beat original by "Great Big Sea" or Sarah Mclachlan.
4) What would you wear to the premiere of your movie?
My knee-high boots, the infamous orange skirt, and I'd spend part of the money I'd get for the movie to buy a fancy camisole type of top, necklace and earrings to go with it. A bit rebellious, but not crazy.
5) Who would you thank in your Oscar acceptance speech?
Aside from the usual co-star, director - casting director (well, come on - they cast me!) parents, family, friends, my highschool acting teacher... and then say something subtle but nasty about the current administration just in time to be herded off-stage.
