Cut to spare the sanity of people who have heard me bitch about this situation too much already.

I understand that when someone asks if you'd like to go out for a beer sometime, it's sometimes hard to find a polite way of turning them down. I understand that sometimes any of us may panic and go along with such a thing just to avoid awkwardness. I'm not proud of it, but I've done it. I understand this less when the person being asked was actually the first person to make what might easily be interpreted as an advance, but hey - mix-ups happen. We all say things that can be misinterpreted from time to time.

What I don't understand is the need to exchange a few emails that make it sound as though one is very interested in meeting up, then drop off the face of the freaking planet. Me, personally, I make an effort to sound very vague from the beginning if I'm not honest-to-god thinking I might be interested in this person. If I'm not pulling off this effort well enough, please, somebody let me know. 'Cause dude.

Clearly, I needed a few more suitcases piled on top of my baggage. 'Cause the luggage-cart I'm already dragging around isn't enough.

Also, Dear Winamp:

Quit being a bitch. I don't need to hear every gods-damned-fucking cheery and/or sappy date song in my music files right now. Where is my collection of angry-bitch/'I don't need you' music when I need it, and why won't you pull it up?

I need a bitchy icon.

I did have fun, and I'll be posting about that later. I failed at "bitchy" for my icon (that'll come later, I'm sure), but I did manage to finish a sort of kickass one that I've been working on. *g*

Hehehe... it's actually just text to "Train Wreck," by Sarah Mclachlan. Technically, working in that small a font I could probably put "la la la this is random text" and it would still look basically the same, but I'm anal retentive about my icons, and it drives me nuts if the text isn't something that at least has some significance to me, even if it isn't absolutely fitting.

I liked the font, too! The fancy stuff around the H is actually just a brush that I put on, and then the "ero" is just Times New Roman, but it came out looking pretty good all together. I was very pleased. :D

I haven't actually made a Bitchy tracklist [I have a saava mix titled "Asshole," but that really does not aptly describe the tracklisting at all] but I definitely sometimes pull folders of specific artists (Carbon Leaf, Everclear, Ani with generous use of the Next button) when I want angry music. I'd be happy to send you some of my favorites, though as I understand it your problem isn't so much that you don't *have* such music as that WinAmp is ignoring it.

As for an icon... I have this one and an "evil hand" Lindsey and a "world makes me crazy" Glory icon. I also have an angry Dawn one I've rotated out that says "not that innocent." [None made by me but all shareable AFAIK.] Going through the icons I have saved for possible later rotation I don't see too much in the way of bitchy, though there are Zoe with gun (from the movie) here and the always classic "I can kill you with my brain" River icons. Yeah, an assortment of Zoe and River fighter/chicks with guns type icons.

Yeah, that's it - Winamp is a fickle bitch. I really ought to just make playlists suitable for various moods, but I'm lazy... and that puts me at the whim of Winamp and its bizarre tastes when I use the "random" setting on my whole playlist. Everclear sounds like a very good choice. Mine tends to be more of the Apocalyptica, Poe, Garbage, and a bit of Alanis Morrisette sort of vein. ;)

Ooo, that Zoe icon really is lovely - I may have to hunt-up the screencap for that and see what I can do with it. In the meantime, I've satisfied myself with finally finishing an icon I've been working for a while on.

...Knowing my insane ability to roll over like a frigging puppy at the slightest good word, we'll see if that feeling survives should he get his head out of his ass, but it shouldn't matter. I'm betting this is a done deal. If he was interested, he'd have made time, and that's that. *Growls*
