random fannish flashback moment

Went digging through my photo files 'cause I'm sleepy but I didn't want to go to bed at 9pm, and the muse was failing me for anything more productive, and I found this.




I'm a lot more pleased with this pic than I remember being when we originally saw the whole group of them just after we saw Serenity. The sweater is still wrong (*points to icon in annoyance*), but it was the best I could manage at the time, and as for my expression... eh, that's what I get for shooting for 'in character.' And we look pretty damned good, taken as a group. We did what we could on a relatively low budget... and we were still the only group at the showing that had more than one person in costume.

In case it's not obvious, from top left that's: Zoe, Mal, Simon, Kaylee, Jayne, and Inara, then Wash and River in the lower row. I'm too sleepy to put usernames, but you all know who you are. Good-looking crew, there and in real life. *g* (I feel compelled to add, at serious risk of being killed by the Jewish equivalent of the Pinky of Doom, that Kari does an admirable job of Thinking Tall in this picture. Good thing Sean's sitting. ...*Runs away*)

Maybe someday if I get really ambitious, I'll try to edit out the movie posters in the background. ;)

Bed-time now. I've done all the productivity I'm gonna manage for the night.

That is an awesome photo :D Dave and I have borrowed Firefly off a friend, and we watched the pilot last night. Dave saw the first couple of episodes on telly a while ago, but the rest will be all new *is excited for him*

And what I realize is that somehow I ended up being in the fore of the picture while everyone else who was standing was in the background, skewing the precption. Go us for awesome posing. ^_^ And yes, Sean sitting down helped.

Hardly. That's the exact opposite of those majors, you're supposed to be able to explain why you think what you think. Its just, well, my view of death is nothing I've ever really thought about before.

I guess that's what comes of being the 'create your own spirituality' sort of person, along with doing a lot of religious studies - I'm actually pretty confident of my feelings about death and what I think about it.

(Yeah, but it makes me feel weird, now. That's a big thing I'm focusing on in my English class this quarter - getting out of all the pat little academic habits that were trained into me to the point that I do them without thinking.)

I was all over the city trying to find a really loose-knit fine sort of sweater exactly like the one River wears - it was like some kind of mad obsession. The one I ended up with doesn't look too awful in the pictures, but in real life it was just too chunky and thick. Ah well. ;)

It was awesome - we almost had everybody, but at the last minute our friend in Vancouver wasn't able to make it down for the showing. She was supposed to be our Book. Would've been horribly fun, especially since she's kind of got The Hair.
