He did, and I was in this whole "break it to him in pieces" process, before I actually called them. "Blah, blah, blah, oh, and I've cancelled Alan's hotel, but I still have to get through to the airline. Just keeping you updated." And then it worked, and they gave us the e-voucher just like we wanted them to, and everything was good!
