something wicked this way comes....

Hey,
zinjadu (and all other Sean Bean and/or Shakespeare fans)...
Take a look at this.
♥ ♥ ♥
Update: Oh, and while I'm linkspamming... I did a little checking at the official Star Trek site (www.startrek.com, as though any of you couldn't have guessed it...) and found this:
In addition to clarifying that he may or may not direct the film, Abrams also distanced himself from Variety's report that the plot of "Star Trek XI" would revolve around a young James T. Kirk and Spock at Starfleet Academy.
"We've made a pact not to discuss any specifics," he said.
At the same time, though, he confessed to being a fan of the Original Series and remarked, "Those characters are so spectacular. I just think that... you know, they could live again."
I'm a bit relieved by this, honestly, mostly because the Starfleet Academy plot idea seemed even further from the usual Trek movie than I'd expect. Still very interested to see what comes of this.

Date: 2006-09-08 08:50 pm (UTC)It ran seven years, just like TNG... and I believe it started in 1992? Early 90s, anyway, same era as B5. They even cross actors a few times - the guy who played Harriman Grey turns up as a recurring and much-loved semi-villain in later seasons of DS9. Slimey, delightfully sanctimonious character... I was so happy to see him in B5.

Date: 2006-09-09 06:06 am (UTC)Early '90s was a great time period for tv shows. Aww, weenie Grey even though I didn't want to I like him a little bit. You know I'm thinking I might netflix DS9 just to see if I might like it. Is Andrea Thomposon (Talia) ever on DS9? I wondered why she left, and if it was for a better part on DS9...

Date: 2006-09-09 07:09 am (UTC)It was! And you should, although the first season kind of... is iffy sometimes. ...Although once a person survives S1 for B5, that probably sets new levels for 'iffy.' Ugh, Sinclair and Sakai. Anyway. No, she didn't... I double-checked IMDb.com just to make sure, and she wasn't ever on it. My impression had always been that she left B5 because the plot called for her to leave, not the other way 'round - is that not true?

Date: 2006-09-09 07:59 am (UTC)Hee. Too true about S1 on B5. I now have a better tolerance for bad acting because of those two. Makes one wonder if one could sit through a Paris Hilton movie...Yeah, no.

Date: 2006-09-09 07:33 am (UTC)XD All right, here's the story.
At WonderCon a few years ago, he came to give a talk (and then later hang around to sign stuff). I hadn't really gotten into Babylon 5 at that point (beyond the first couple seasons) and I mostly knew him through comics he'd written. I can't remember a lot of what he talked about, unfortunately, but what really stood out was that he said that he'd give signed copies of the scripts to "Sleeping in Light" (the B5 series finale) to whoever gave him the best (and the worst) questions. I can't remember what 'worst question' was, but he thought that the question I asked (something about advice for young people who want to get into comic creation) was the best one. The real kicker is that I've had the damned script in my desk drawer for about three years now and I can't read it cos I don't wanna spoil myself!
But you know what really sucks? Long before I met JMS, back when I was, like, 11, I went to a con with my dad where Claudia Christian was a guest star, and I had NO IDEA WHO SHE WAS. GAAAAAAHHHH! *tears hair out*

Date: 2006-09-09 07:43 am (UTC)Oh man that sucks, I wish I was able to go to some of the cons they sound like so much fun. And I would love to talk to JMS and the cast so many questions so little time...

Date: 2006-09-09 07:47 am (UTC)Cons can be a lot of fun, especially when they're done well. I was lucky enough to, (A) have a big sci-fi/fantasy/comic-book geek for a father and (B) grow up near San Francisco, where Wonder-Con is held.

Date: 2006-09-09 08:27 am (UTC)Twiced blessed you are, my family is still wondering why a 23 I buy comic books. Oooh, Wonder-Con...

Date: 2006-09-09 09:33 pm (UTC)Because comic books rock, that's why!

Date: 2006-09-10 08:30 am (UTC)Of course, but apparently the rest of the world has yet to find that out. *is sad*

Date: 2006-09-09 07:51 am (UTC)... ...Also, you don't mean your desk here, right? No, wait, don't answer that question, or I'll be tempted to run upstairs, shove Johnny away from the desk, and start rifling through it. I mean I wouldn't... but... but... script!
*Grumbles again about Fey getting that damned kiss from her and how godawfully damned jealous I still am about that*

Date: 2006-09-09 07:55 am (UTC)No, it's here in California with me. Right here in the desk next to me. *pets it* But I guess I'll be bringing it to Seattle with me now! Cos I'll definitely be wanting to read it once we get into 5th season. ^^
*keyboard mash* OH HELLS YES. TT^TT

Date: 2006-09-09 08:00 am (UTC)Yeep. o_O It's... right there. Wow. I'm so impressed by your restraint!
...Wait a minute. I have clearly missed a vital leap of logic here. You know those creepy "when you sleep with someone, you're also sleeping with all the people they've slept with" ads that they used to put out to encourage abstinence? If we expand that logic..... Okay, I have kissed a person who was kissed by Claudia Christian. I'll take what vague proxy-happiness I can get!

Date: 2006-09-09 09:35 pm (UTC)Hmmm... I think this means I need to kiss Faye now. Or you. *plots*

Oh, I will happily indulge you on that one, any time you like. ;)
