Nov. 9th, 2006 04:37 pmHey,
zinjadu... I fully blame you for the fact that, now that I'm actually (gasp!) watching Buffy, every time I see Drusilla, my brain goes "Bellatrix!" Also, when Jessie and I looked her up on IMDB we discovered that she's starring in a movie version of "The Yellow Wallpaper"... quite possibly the weirdest short story I've ever read, and guaranteed to break my poor little brain even without an actress who twists my mind up into little quivering knots. Should be fun. o_O
And while I'm on the subject of Bellatrix, I want pictures of Helena Bonham-Carter in that role now, drat it. Enough with these pictures of the trio... I want Black family stuff! ...I can't help it. You play a character as long as I played Narcissa, it kind of gets into your head... and I love Helena Bonham-Carter!
Also, would I be totally insane if I registered for a $120 seminar at the UW Career Services Center? I'm kind of leery because a) I really shouldn't spend that much money immediately after quitting my job (which begs the question of what they're thinking, since it's specifically geared toward students and alumni working the job-hunt thing...), and b) a lot of seminars like that push the button on my knee-jerk "gods you people are morons, this is all common sense" response, but... it's extraordinary good timing, that the 3-day seminar starts on the 30th of November, a little over a week after my last day at this job. It'd be perfect - a week of vacation, then an intensive seminar meant to help me figure out what I'm doing, network, etc.
*Frets* Potentially very useful... but... potentially a waste of money.........
Happy Friday-eve, everybody.

"The Yellow Wallpaper" is being made into a movie? Oooookay. I kind of want and don't want to see that.

Date: 2006-11-10 06:51 am (UTC)I knew someone around here had read it! Isn't that insane?! I'm kind of... scared and excited all at the same time. It could be really interesting if done well... and my instincts say that Landau is exactly the kind of actress who could pull that off, too. But still... eek.
Here's the IMDB page for the movie (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0790788/)... and here (http://www.imdb.com/gallery/ss/0790788/Ss/0790788/iid_1108324.jpg.html?path=gallery&path_key=0790788) is a bonus "ohmigod it's her!" picture. I admit, I'm not uber-certain that she's playing the main character (they have the cast listed in alphabetical order rather than order of importance), but since the author's name is Charlotte and the story itself never mentions the main character's name.... I'm figuring it's a good guess. Plus... dude. I'd sure as heck cast her for that character. She's fabulous at being crazy!
