Nov. 29th, 2006 12:17 amParaphrased from Kendra and I hanging around the dinner table with hot cinnamon cocoa spiked with cheap almond-flavored liquor, discussing the boringness of the sex scene I had just read aloud (from Crummy Romance Novel Left in the Wall by a Prior Occupant) as impromptu dinner theater for the housemates.
Kendra: Maybe I'm just jaded after all the fic. Especially starting out in Buffy fandom. The biting always makes things more interesting. And people are always getting tied up...
Me: Clearly, this is why I like Joss - he shares my kinks. Biting and bondage? Throw in a library table and I'm done! Can there be bookshelves? Because I'm totally into that...
Kendra: I need to make you a t-shirt that says "Tie me up in tweed."

Gods help me I've been single too long. No, seriously. ^#@&%$@&*$!
Am going to bed now. Really.

Date: 2006-11-29 08:23 pm (UTC)Only slightly tangentially, last night my D&D group was discussing lewd fic fandom, and Justin (You remember Justin Graham from CSS, right?) innocently asked at one point, "What does 'non-con' mean?" When we finished laughing, the general answer was, "we'll tell you when you're older..."

Date: 2006-11-29 08:33 pm (UTC)I'm trying really hard to remember which one is Justin. I know I knew him, but I can't bring an image to mind. Anyhow... wow. I always kind of figured non-con for one of those really easy fandom terms. Definitely easier than... "tl;dr" or something. That one stopped me up for weeks before I asked a housemate.

Date: 2006-11-29 08:13 pm (UTC)I immediately thought, "if library/academia rough sex = hot, would getting paddled with a thesaurus be the hottest thing evar? Like, while shouting out synonyms for spanking?"
Why am I such a dork? -_-;

Date: 2006-11-29 08:31 pm (UTC)Dude, I had no idea you ever had written it. So it really must've been a while.

Date: 2006-11-29 08:44 pm (UTC)Actually, it could be good warm-up for Christmas. For the two female players in my (now 2-years old and running) D&D game, I offered them each the chance to pick any two characters, NPCs or (their) PCs, and I would write them a short story about those two characters, with whatever I write becoming game world canon. As good little fandom writers, they immediately saw how awesome (and dangerous) an idea that is. I gave them the chance to request smut, so I have a sneaking suspicion that I will be writing gay bondage porn for christmas. *le sigh*
And if the thesaurus thing sneaks into your story, you totally need to let me read it! XD

Date: 2006-11-30 12:45 am (UTC)Awwww, you're a good GM for doing that! Alas, I always end up writing my characters' backstories for myself, because if I'm actually playing a character consistently they tend to settle down in a corner of my brain and start redecorating to suit their whims. Come to think of it, it's the same with the characters I write fanfiction for... What's that saying about writers and actors both being Multiple Personality Disordered, but just better at hiding it? :P
I'm sure it will. If only as a quip of some kind...
