Happy winter solstice (or summer solstice for my friends in the southern hemisphere) to all those who celebrate! At long last, after tonight the days should be slowly getting longer, and maybe some of the winter dull that's fallen over life will slip away. I'm really looking forward to that this year - I already feel a lot more vital than I did, what with the new job, but the coming of spring will be a very good thing, I think.

Tonight, for the first time, I'm going to try for an all-night vigil. Since I don't have work tomorrow (today's my Saturday thanks to the schedule I keep at the bookstore), and since I finally have someone to go through it with me, it seemed like the perfect choice. And, fortunately, I have more than enough to do to keep me busy up til then. Laundry, grocery shopping, bill-paying, returning library books... all these things have been getting put off thanks to the "omigod new job!" rush. So now I have to get back to making my life a little bit more functional. As in, having clothes to wear and food to eat. ;)

But! I've also been making decent progress on fics over my lunch breaks, so that's good. And it's a bright, sunny day here in Seattle, which always deserves a bit of celebration.

Now. Where the hell did I put my tea cup last night?
