So, about that interview?

They hired me! They called yesterday afternoon and hired me. XD

It's a temp-to-permanent position, it pays almost double what I get now at the bookstore, and it's the kind of job that could definitely lead to a career that wouldn't make me want to kill things. As in, employable skills beyond the ability to handle customers and show up on time, etc.

In celebration of this fact, and because I like to do writing memes so that I get a little fresh blood in my idea pool, I'm offering short fics themed around the subject either of summer or of work or a job. Just comment with a fandom, a character or pairing, and a short prompt/quote/concept associated with the theme.

You all know more or less the fandoms I'm willing to write, and if you're not sure about something, ask - I reserve the right to say I don't think I can do something justice, but I'll do my best. ♥

I'm lucky (though somewhat awkward...) in that I've got a job right now. Bad in that I have to quit, good in that there was no stress to find a job immediately, so I could relax, take things slow, think everything over. Not a luxury I'm used to having when it comes to jobs. ;)

Oh yes! I'm not sure which I'll go for, but a bit of Delenn sounds like wonderful fun!

Yay! That's exactly what I told your boss when she was in interviewing me - right as she came in she said "so, you know Terra and Anne!" and I pulled my best deadpan and said, yes, we're planning to take over the company.

The 28th! I have to give notice at the bookstore tomorrow (my manager isn't in over the weekend), so it'll be tight. But it'll do. And then I'll have weekends like a normal human being!

I'll be doing web work for a company that makes websites for car dealerships. Updating their pages and stuff like that. So, actual marketable skills! Novel thought, for an anthro/English major!

Hmmm...I've often wondered what would have happened if Marcus hadn't died, in terms of work...either during or after the war. That is, if he & Susan really got together, how would they have handled the work situation?

The company runs internet marketing solutions for car dealers, and I'll be doing HTML content for them. So basically web dev. XD

(Hey, I can't remember - are you into the band Great Big Sea? They're playing at Woodland Park in July, and a bunch of us are planning to get tickets, so I could keep you updated and all if you're interested!

Also, are you busy the night of the 25th? We're planning a Pirates party for the new movie coming out, and it'd be really cool if you could come.)
