Doctor Who, and that much more ambiguous 'real life' thing

That had to be the shortest season of television I've ever seen. It went so fast. And I already miss Eccleston. *Pouts* I'm sure Tennant is wonderful, but he's not my type, darn it. I need my fictional crushes to keep me sane during the interminable periods of single-hood that I call my personal life.

Hormones suck, leaving the bookstore today made me feel all sad because I'll miss my coworkers, but they gave me a nice card and a book and a pretty plant, and I can always come back to visit. Also, I used the last of my employee discount and bought myself a bunch of new art pens, and the last of the Blood omnibus books, so now I have the whole series.

I feel very much in limbo, and all nervous about starting the new job on Tuesday. It's a whole new thing, and I'm scared I won't do well enough at it.

I think I'd better go write. I seemed to be clawing my way out of the block that's been eating me the last time I worked on something, and I'd like to keep up with that.

Also, I forgot to mention that I saw my favorite professor the other day. She's up and about again after a long and scary illness, and it absolutely made my day shine to see her again so randomly, on her first day up and about out of the house, even. I'd been so worried about her the last few months, I spent the rest of the afternoon in a near-constant state of gratitude for that little bit of serendipity.

I still haven't finished the Nine season, because I like Chris Eccelston too much. I'm sure Tennant is great, but I like Nine way too much. I've been sitting on the end of Nine for ages now, afraid to finish it and move on.

Nine will always be my favorite, I think. He's just fabulous - so bright and brilliant. I mean, what other man can have such impassioned and compelling chemistry with a bunch of trash-cans?

I seriously need some icons of that man.

I'm really excited, too! I'm starting at 9 tomorrow, which is great since a) it means I can go in with Terra, and b) the buses for the earlier shift would be abominable.

You saw Professor Conrad??? OHMIGOSH, thank goodness. Is she going to be able to teach again? Is she doing ok now?

I did! She's doing better - she's going to teach one more year, starting this fall, and then she thinks she's going to retire. It sounds like she might have been leaning that way even before all this mess.

Thank you! Today went pretty well, so I'll just keep my fingers crossed for... well, probably the next six months or so, honestly. New jobs always make me nervous. ;)
