First, YouTube spam for the Doctor Who fans out there:
"Bigger on the Inside", which should definitely be listened to with headphones if you're in public - the vid is totally safe for work, but the lyrics, unless you have a very friendly and liberal workplace, are not. The song is by Da Vinci's Notebook, and they totally rock. And as if that weren't enough...
Here's John Barrowman singing "Can You Feel the Love Tonight." Between this and The Christmas Invasion, I will never again be able to watch The Lion King without giggling. Fair Warning: I have not watched the actual video for this one (nor do I have any particular desire to...), but the song is quite nice. Lovely voice, as always... and I'll be over here snickering because I can't stop it from being Jack serenading, um, various people. Okay, mostly Nine. Who would of course be quite bemused by the whole thing. Anyway.
Went out to a lovely brunch for
shadawyn's birthday on Saturday, and after that most of the weekend consisted of crafty-work, errands, and writing.
Oh, the writing. Let me just say that I have never worked so hard to get two characters in bed together... By which I mean that they've been in bed (in a hotel, even!) for about four pages now, and persist in making no use of my kindly-provided plot device except to chat and snuggle. It's appalling, I'm telling you. Truly appalling.
I fail at the smut. But I'm not giving up yet!
Went to the local Unitarian Universalist church for the first time on Sunday, and I think I'm going to stick it out for a while there. I like the people so far (although Kendra and I are pretty sure we've already managed to acquire an unwanted admirer), and I very much liked the service. So. Now I just have to memorize an appropriate definition of U.U. tenets so that I have an answer for the "What do you mean you're going to church?" and/or "Hallelujah, she's seen the light!" type questions that I'm sure I'll be getting from all angles as soon as I mention it. (For a value of "all angles" that means "parts of my family," mind you.) It may clear things up (by which I mean muddy the waters in a delightful way!) to say that I'm hoping to hang out with their pagan group next week. *g*
I think that's enough random spamming for one entry. How are you all?

(If I get any good Barrowman icons worked out, I'll be sure to pass 'em your way - I'm starting to feel the need for a few, myself. ♥)

Date: 2007-09-05 03:34 am (UTC)Seriously, tho, I have total faith in your smut. Once those two (two, I'm assuming, but what do I know...there might be five or six by the time you're done) get going, I'm sure it will be awesome.

Date: 2007-09-05 03:52 pm (UTC)We'll see what happens with the smut... it's making slow progress, but I'm going to have a lot of editing to go through, to hack down the insane amounts of conversation that it took me to get there. Thanks for the support, though! Smut-writing always makes me feel kind of pathetic and helpless - I really need more practice, I guess. ;)

Date: 2007-09-05 04:42 am (UTC)-"Anything You Can Do I Can Do Better" with Ruthie Henshall (Fantine from the 10th anniversary Les Mis). I don't know Captain Jack very well, but I feel like this is fitting - he's showing off and being a ham. XD
-Kissing his partner at London Pride. Awww. (With added bit of performance of the Doctor Who theme.)
-"All I Ask of You." <3
