Got the BPAL I ordered a few weeks ago for
narsilion and I - two of the autumn Limiteds, "Death of Autumn" and "October," as well as five frimps: Midnight Kiss, Dragon's Musk, Glasgow, Desdemona, and Loviatar.
So far, I passionately love both the LE's, and am liking the others as well. Midnight Kiss is veeeery sweet, almost candy-like, and Loviatar does something very strange and bitter on my skin that I'm not quite sure about, but Glasgow and Desdemona are both fantastic.
Loviatar: The Finnish Goddess of Agony, Torment and the joy found in inflicting pain on others. The Mistress of Torture, she has transformed in the modern era into the patron Goddess of Dominatrixes. The slap of slick, hot leather punctuates the warm, sensual embrace of black amber, red musk and dark, lascivious myrrh.
...I knew it had leather in it. I think it might be the myrrh that's bothering me when on, but I do definitely still want to like it.
Desdemona: Innocent, soft and pure: sweet pea, carnation and water lily.
Yum!
Glasgow: The rich scent of wild blackberry breezing over gentle rosy heather.
The blackberry so far doesn't come off quite right, but I haven't worn it yet, so I'm hoping it'll work on skin. Still lovely, though.
Midnight Kiss: Eternal desire, unquenchable passion: red musk, cocoa absolute, Nepalese amber, red sandalwood, aged patchouli, nicotiana, and blood wine.
Odd... All I smell on myself is the wine. o_O It literally smells like sweet tarts when I first put it on, though thankfully it mellows a bit after a while.
Dragon's Musk: Dominant, passionate, devastating. Dragon's blood and five deep musks.
Yeah... probably too "dominant" for me. I don't do well with the masculine scents, not on me. I do like them, though.
Death of Autumn: Dark amber, dead leaves, khus, saffron, bitter clove, chrysanthemum, camellia, galangal, and a drop of oud.
Very nice smell. I could've sworn I picked up woodsmoke in this one, which made me very very happy ...I'm still wondering what a drop of oud is. All I can think of is a bunch of hive-mind telepathic aliens with tentacles on their faces. o_O
October: Dry, cold autumn wind. A rustle of red leaves, a touch of smoke and sap in the air.
More bitter than I'd hoped, and not so much with the leaves. Unless of course I managed to mix up where I put October and where I put Death of Autumn, which seems likely given that *this* one has the smoke that I thought I smelled in the other.

Date: 2007-10-02 11:46 pm (UTC)I'll try to make sure and pick up the extra bottles this week so we can split them up (and a dropper, since I think I lost mine when we moved...). I can't wait to see what you think of them!
