music note
Oct. 23rd, 2007 02:51 pmAll the Firefly fans on my friends-list (and everybody else, but I'll be generous...) should know about Abigail Washburn, but if you haven't I'll give you a reminder. She plays the banjo and sings beautiful music that blends traditional American folk music with Chinese folk styles and her own wonderful lyricism.
I'm reminded of this right now because I just found this interview with her on NPR's website, including clips of most of the songs from her album "Song of the Traveling Daughter."
Check her out, seriously. I've been listening to her music for about a year, now, and it never stops touching my heart.

Let me know, ok?

Date: 2007-10-26 12:26 am (UTC)You mean on Friday, right? Let me check with Kendra - we might be doing last minute rush on the Halloween costumes, so it'll depend on whether she needs to be using the sewing machine in the living room, or if we're on hand-sewing stuff that it'd be good to have the TV on for. ;)

Date: 2007-10-26 12:46 am (UTC)Okay, I'll call you tonight once I've talked to her. We ought to be okay, I think, I just want to double-check with her, since I'm not actually sure where she is in putting her costume together. I know where we're at in mine... but it's simpler than hers. ;)
It'd be really nice to hang out with you, though! And anyway, we've got Saturday during the day if we still have a load of work to do, so we'll probably be fine.
