spoilers are the enemy
Oct. 28th, 2007 09:54 pmIt has been entirely too long since I've been involved in the fandom of a currently-ongoing TV show. By which I mean "gee, it might be smart for me to un-friend all Doctor Who related communities until further notice, because I have nearly zero ability to restrain myself from clicking on the 'possible spoilers!' posts about the coming season."
I have low impulse control when it comes to curiosity. And I hate spoiling myself for books/shows/anything. This is a very bad combination. Bleh. I've already read one thing that I didn't mean to (it wasn't my fault! All I did was hover my cursor over something, and to my great shock and horror it brought up the image it was linking to with a big old spoily headline!), and I don't want any more.
And don't tell me "but it's unlikely that any of these spoilers will be true," because the last time I believed that (HP book 7 rumors) I ended up not only spoiling myself rotten and spending the lead-up thinking that I'd just read a bunch of cracked-own fan theories, and then felt deeply disappointed that they turned out to be true. I'm not doing that again, dang it!
...I had a good weekend. There was a Halloween party, and I had fun, even if I did manage to forget a large part of my costume. XD
